Hotkey for Archiving emails
Please create a hotkey for sending messages to the Archive folder.

banner ads
If you MUST have banner ads (we really don't pay attention to them) then you need to fix your programming so they do not migrate down into the inbox (and into the drafts and sent folders) and get stuck there. This really clutters up our inboxes, and believe me mine is cluttered enough already. I'd love to try the paid for Yahoo--but if I can't trust you to do the 'free' one correctly, then I sure am not going to pay to be irritated.

You still have not fixed the contact folder I still can't move people around in the contact folder since you made the change.
You have not fixed the contact folder. I still can't move people around within the contact folder. Please put it back the way it use to be. This is very inconvenient because people are getting the wrong email.

Inappropriate ad
You've had the same ad running along the right side of my email, and I wish you'd pull it or run another ad. The couple drinking alcohol (on a cruise?) suggests that alcohol is the only thing one does on a cruise. I do not drink alcohol and because of this ad would not go on a cruise.

Replying to thread replies to myself if the last message is from me.
When I reply to an email thread, the message gets sent to myself if it's my second reply in a row. If the conversation thread goes like (person B)>me>B>me it works as it should, but if it's B>me>B>me>me the last "me" email will get sent to myself instead of to person B. If I want that email to go to person B too, I need to reply to his last message in the conversation, not just reply to the whole thread. Usually I don't notice when it happens and then keep wondering why people haven't received my message. This is…

Quit changing the sort order of mail back to newest first. I have it as oldest first for a reason. You can easily change the default to whatever I select instead of only using that temporarily. I'm a retired software engineer - do you need me to do it for you?

Name changes don't stick
I received this email after taking over for a parents group at my kids school. Even though I've changed the settings to reflect MY name everywhere I can find the previous president's name still pops up about half the time. This causes confusion as she is still working with some of the same people at a different school, so I get her emails instead of her getting her emails.

I would like to color code my emails.. to ones that IS IMPORTANT..and NEEDS LOOKING AT SOON...or Responded to..to maybe a sale

Seriously, wtf?! No amount of Adblock and Ghostery can get rid of this. Just seems like they want to keep ******* their users off. It's already bad enough I get ads disguised as emails that I can't delete, and now this annoying tripe!!

why do email windows close suddenly?
When I leave an email open to read for a while (approximately a minute) it automatically closes. Very annoying. It happens in safari, firefox and on my iphone. How can I stop this?

Remember the choice if I turn off "automatically generate preview of links"
No matter how many times I turn off "automatically generate preview of links" Yahoo Mail does not remember my setting if I leave and come back.
