    My own informal survey reveals an overwhelming majority from the right who believe they are being persecuted in some ways. The news is never, ever perfect. It is impossible to capture a slice of reality in 250 words and a photograph. Sometimes they get it wrong. But I you see a majority of the news slanted one way or the other, you should first of all seek out other sources for comparison and use your head to figure out which version most closely seems most accurate.
