I have to check myself constantly to assess whether I see things overrepresented with bias. Sometimes have to admit it is my own bias that is behind my own jaded viewpoint. However, journalism is the art of representing reality. Humans make errors.

I would say that in this case yours is quite possibly a legitimate complaint. In this case it gives you the opportunity to think about why this happened and to rewrite your viewpoint so it is an acceptable argument that won't "mistakenly" get blocked.

I find Yahoo to be kind of unique in that they do a fair job of hitting the high spots of the news cycle. So there is decent selection from the public discourse for discussion, which is the purpose here -- discussion. Yahoo will never have the resources to invest in top notch original journalism, or not for a while anyway.

I flag a lot of comments. It seems to me that comments that are misinformed, incendiary, and impolite are overwhelmingly originated from the right wing. There are faults from the left, too. But at least on this forum it is my bet that the degree of negativism spewing from the right can be quantified. These are the ones that will not even entertain an opposing view.

I flag a lot of comments. It seems to me a lot of people's definition of the rules is out the window. Plus if my comments are rejected, it is an opportunity for me to use critical thinking to try an discern why someone else black-balled you.

I flag a lot of comments. It seems to me a lot of people's definition of the rules is out the window. Plus if my comments are rejected, it is an opportunity for me to use critical thinking to try an discern why someone else black-balled you.
My own informal survey reveals an overwhelming majority from the right who believe they are being persecuted in some ways. The news is never, ever perfect. It is impossible to capture a slice of reality in 250 words and a photograph. Sometimes they get it wrong. But I you see a majority of the news slanted one way or the other, you should first of all seek out other sources for comparison and use your head to figure out which version most closely seems most accurate.
