1. Calendar is putting ICS entries in at midnight?!?! Fix this!

   I received an invite to a meeting scheduled for 6-7PM CST. When I added it to my calendar, the calendar said it was from 12 AM - 1 AM. ???? Hard to excuse this not working.

6. more themes and more advanced spam filters

   the mailbox layout needs a refresh and personalization with more themes. and the spam filters needs to be more advance. why am I getting emails in my inbox that don't even mention my email address. this needs to be fixed.

7. WOW, progress!!!

   So, instead of us seeing "999+" beside a folder, Yahoo actually gives us an estimate of how many email are in the folder. I'm now seeing something like "1.5k" WOW, Yahoo makes an improvement. I'm impressed.

   Now, how about:
   * when we search for a zip code, a last name, etc. in our contacts, how about showing us more than 6 options?
   
   * how about alphabetizing our lists? That's BASIC!!!
   * when we search for something and specify one certain folder, how about showing us what's in that folder only, and not what's in others. I'm dumbfounded how this feature doesn't work.

   There's so many basic things to fix.

   p.s. I'm not screaming about spam. I think Yahoo filters spam pretty well. I'd say they catch 95% of what is sent to me. And I'd guess that only 1% of the emails in my spam folder are actually not spam.

9. make the message area larger, reduce size of headers out side actual messages

   it a message app. the headers and area above messages are way to big, take up most of the screen. Reduce the size of them. really hard to read on smaller devices.

10. Allow a yahoo user to choose not to see what are self-evidently spam emails

    This is written 9-Jan-2023 and based on the hard evidence from examining headers of spam emails that have arrived recently at my yahoo address.
    It is crystal clear that yahoo is now checking the Authentication-Results values and using those to accurately route spam emails sent to me into my spam folder.
    BRAVO and A VERY BIG THANK YOU.
    The few spam emails that still arrive in my In-Box I can see have a Received-SP: value of pass. Tightening the logic by making Authentication-Results the overriding criterion whatever the Received-SPF value will solve that issue immediately.
    From the significant volumes of 'good' emails being routed by yahoo to other users' spam folders it would appear that many senders have still not implemented Domain-based Message Authentication Reporting and Conformance. That is not anything that yahoo can do something about. The answer can only be yahoo users insisting that their 'good' senders comply with good practice and put in place what are now basic security safeguards.
    Allowing a yahoo user the option on the Security and Privacy screen to no longer see emails that fail authentication would save a lot of time currently spent on blocking addresses and domains sending the spam. This would only require adding a single tick-box. Selecting this box would activate this logic (or something very similar):

    Check 1:
    IF ‘Received-SPF:’ = ‘none’ OR ‘error’ OR ‘fail’ THEN do not deliver the email but delete it instead
    IF ‘Received-SPF:’ = any different value, then proceed to Check 2

    Check 2:
    IF in ‘Authentication-Results:’
    Any mention of ‘dkim=’ ‘unknwn’ OR ‘perm_fail’ THEN do not deliver the email but delete it instead
    IF ‘dkim=’ is any different value, then proceed to Check 3

    Check 3:
    IF in ‘Authentication-Results:’
    ‘dmarc=’ is ‘unknown header.’ OR ‘fail(p=NONE)’ OR ‘pass(p=REJECT)’ OR ‘pass(p=QUARANTINE)’ OR ‘pass(p=NONE’ THEN do not deliver the email but delete it instead
    IF ‘dmarc=’ is any different value, then deliver the email to the In-Box and let the recipient decide whether to categorize it as spam.

    I appreciate that this will might impact the yahoo internal statistics for email traffic delivered. However, that could also be resolved very simply by adding in a new delivery category of 'Delivery processed but email failed authentication'.
    Activating this authentication logic does run the risk that some 'good' emails may never be delivered to me. However, I am entirely comfortable with assuming that risk and in the grand scheme I suspect that on balance a majority of other users will make the same choice..
    What will be important is to ensure that the senders of these spam emails are never informed that delivery was made to a mass-delete temporary holding area, rather than to the intended recipient.

    I have used 300+ domains trying to block variations ending in "zoqloq.com". Allowing "*zoqloq.com" would end my nightmare.

    The limit of 500 blocked domains is simply inadequate for current volumes of spam. Please also allow blocking of 20 specific domain suffixes for each user.

15. Subscriptions Folder

    It seems I'm lucky enough now to have a new mandatory email folder called subscriptions. Here there is a catalogue of the email addresses that I will accept regular emails from on a x per week basis.
    This functionality is falling a bit short of what is required because I'm not aware of having agreed to any of these regular updates. So some I'm happy with but most I'm not because here also are all the email addresses that I do not want emails from for whatever dubious or malicious purpose they are peddling. All have arrived in my subscriptions folder without my permission. Here are just twenty of the unwelcome entries with the purported purpose in brackets behind the address:

    As can be seen the contrast between the email address and the title can be hilarious. I was particularly tickled by the honesty of toythieves.
    Please either remove the Subscriptions Folder entirely or only allow entries if there is an explicit approval from myself to receive them plus a valid unsubscibe email address. Most of my unsubscribe emails come back as undeliverable. However, it is amusing to block each of these unwelcome addresses. (No room left in my folder of just 500 to block the domains. Make 500 into 5,000 though and that would work for me)
