Provide a filter to allow sorting inbox by sender; this would allow for faster deletion of junk
Currently there is no filter to allow for sorting email by sender. Why is that? Not sure. but it needs to be added.
HI Lane Smith, yes you can certainly sort by sender. Just like the old version, you need to disable Conversation view under Settings and then you'll see Sender Name as a sorting option. Thanks!

Stop the streaks and AI ****
I don't want the dumb streaks and the stupid AI ****. Please let me opt out of it. I don't want it. I'm an adult and can manage my email without any additional help. Stop dumbing down and gamifying email.
Yes, we launched a fun way to reward our users for reading and organizing your emails, but you do not have to participate (not forced). Friendly reminder to always check your Settings. You can disable Streaks by going to the three dots "..." in the left hand navigation and then Your Streaks. Thanks.

Yahoo mail new interface needs provision to allow opening emails in new tabs
The classic interface allowed me to open many folders and messages by right click open in new tab. This was super useful for what I do here. That seems to have regressed in the new interface and it makes it super clunky.
We still have multi-tasking tabs. We have not taken that away. Just go to More > Settings > Appearance and toggle on Multi-tasking tabs. Thanks.

Need an easy way to see the incoming email address
I do not like the new yahoo format, it is hard to identify fraudulent linked emails, I am not able to see the address or where the email is coming from. With the old email format I was able to quickly identify and determine if the email is spam or fraudulent
Hi Ajay, like the old version, you can still see the sender's email address. From the Inbox, just hover with your mouse over the sender's name and the email address will appear. Same if you open the email message. Hover over the senders name. Hope this helps!

separate emails by date received; make deleting trash weekly a choice
I am not a fan of the new format at all. I would like to see emails separated by date received so they don't all blend together. I also do not like the auto delete of trash inbox after a week. I often go back to trash to look for an email for some reason. I like to empty my trash when I want to.
We encourage you to read at the top of the Uservoice header (forum). There we provide What’s New, Coming Soon and some Tips. There we mention how to disable Inbox Categories: All, Priority, etc. Definitely read those as we update them with useful information.
Also, the auto delete of 7 days is the same as the old version. This is nothing new! We currently have no plans in changing this. Thanks!

Can there be a way to turn off the little "primary" markers in front of email subjects in the inbox list?
There is now a way to default the inbox to "All" instead of "Primary" but emails the system has determined are "Primary" appear with little highlighted labels to the left of the subject. The trouble is whatever the system's notion of "Primary" is, it has NOTHING to do with me or how I consider the emails. It is a completely useless notion. I don't have a clue what the algorithm is for identifying what is "Primary" or not - but it is not MY algorithm and does not match what I consider "primary". So these labels are annoying. Can there…

Stop the Rentless SPAM. You are allowing it purposely and we know it..
Stop the relentless SPAM 24/7. I get 20+ SPAM emails a day as I'm sure other users get as well and I get NONE with my Gmail account?? It is obvious that your SPAM filters are worthless and likely you are behind most of them. It is obvious that your instructions to help stop them are absolutely worthless and your filter system doesn't work at all. Your Spam filters do NOT learn anything it's all eyewash to pacify your users. You need to fix your SPAM filters like Gmail so we get no more SPAM. Enough is ENOUGH
Please make sure you are marking these emails as spam instead of just deleting. Also, if they are newsletters please make sure you unsubscribe from these. We will also share this with our anti-spam team. Thank you!

Remove AI reading my emails
I should not have to select the button to remove AI from reading my emails every day. One time should work.
Yes, you can disable AI Features by going to your Settings and then clicking on AI Features. If you're toggle off the setting and they keep coming back, this is a bug. And we'll need to investigate this bug. Thanks!

Inbox message are missing
All of sudden my inbox message go from June 2026 to June 2022. I'm missing a huge chunk of emails
One change you'll see is a new feature called Inbox Categories. So you'll see at the top of your Inbox, your emails are now organized in Categories. If you're not seeing all your emails, it might be because you're in the Priority tab. Please go to your "All" tab so you can see all your emails. Thanks.

Bring back one-click "Mark as Read" from the unread indicator
First of all, I'd like to say that the new Yahoo Mail UI looks fantastic. It's modern, clean, intuitive, and feels like a significant improvement over the previous version. I really appreciate the effort your team has put into enhancing the overall user experience.
However, there's one feature from the old UI that I truly miss.
Previously, users could simply click/tap the unread indicator (blue dot/circle) next to an email to instantly toggle it between Read and Unread without opening the email. This was an extremely quick and efficient way to triage an inbox.
In the current UI, marking emails…
Hi there, yes clicking on the purple dot, opens the email, but you can still mark an email as unread without opening it or multi-selecting.
When looking at your Inbox, hover over the email and a set of icons will appear to the right. One of them is the unread icon. Thanks!

Yahoo! Do better at preventing spam emails!!!
I erase and block about 25+ emails a day. I don't have this problem with gmail??? You could do better to prevent this from happening!
Are these legit junk emails or newsletter/promotional type emails from stores, etc? Big difference. For legit spammy emails, please "mark as spam" instead of deleting. For other coupon/promotional type emails like from stores, unsubscribe, at one point (even if you don't remember) you subscribed to these emails. Hope this helps!

Give me back my lost e-mails
In the switch to the new e-mail, I lost very important e-mails. The only thing that I didn't seem to lose was a raft of old newsletters. I am missing e-mails from my insurance, from medical, from friends - all kinds of contact info was lost.
One change you'll see is a new feature called Inbox Categories. So you'll see at the top of your Inbox, your emails are now organized in Categories. If you're not seeing all your emails, it might be because you're in the Priority tab. Please go to your "All" tab so you can see all your emails. Thanks.

Get rid of spam
Recently my inbox is full of spam. It is incredibly obnoxious. I think some improved filters to help me not have to sort out 10+ spam emails from my main inbox would be wonderful.
I don't know if something changed recently since this didn't used to happen as often? It would be great if it stopped though.
Please make sure you are marking these emails as spam instead of just deleting. Also, if they are newsletters please make sure you unsubscribe from these. We will also share this with our anti-spam team. Thank you!

Filtering is fine, but by default, I want to see All, not Priority
Filtering is fine, but by default, I want to see All, not Priority. How do I fix this? If I want priority, I can click on it later. I've missed important emails that your 'AI' nonsense put in another category.

The ability to sort unread messages by sender name
The ability to sort unread messages by senders name needs to be an option! The option was once there but didn't work. The request has been asked for months and there are no update or changes made. This isn't difficult especially since its an option in most other folders. Please add the option to sort by sender name AND have it sort correctly. Thank you.
Hi Denise, thanks for the feedback. The sorting by sender was already fixed back in May! Are you still seeing the issue? You're sorting by sender and it's not working? Can you send us a video of this please? Along with your browser and browser version. Please send to oasis.mail.feedback@yahooinc.com. Thank you!
