Group by date
Please Please Please - I appreciate that we can use the sorting feature to have the newest at the top or prioirty etc. BUT i still would like the ability to group by date: last week, last month, last year etc.

Awful design of the new email for desktop. Fire the designer !!!
Awful experience with the new layout. The right hand pane is absolutely useless and I can't remove it at all. I want to have the option to go back to the Basic Email layout, I don't like the new one.

Provide a quick and easy way to switch back to Classic Yahoo! Email interface. New version is terrible, and is not user friendly. Please allow us to switch back!

Put CONTACTS in the lefthand panel
To scatter functions makes them harder to find.
Hi Neil, thanks for your feedback. We currently have no plans in putting "Contacts" in the left hand navigation. Contacts is very rarely used by our Community. It's used a lot therefore it will remain in the right hand side. We want to keep the left side simple with the most used functions. Thanks!

Revert email back to how it was before
Everything about the new format and operation of the email is terrible. Constant pop up ads, terrible navigation. I absolutely hate it.
Unfortunately, there is no reverting back. We are EOLing the old version here soon. Very sorry! We hope you give the new layout a fair chance. Thank you!

Go back to the old email
The new yahoo mal is truly dreadful - hard to navigate, hard to find things. Stuff gets deleted or go missing.
In short, Yahoo has turned a good mail system int a pile of total **** over the past few years. It's what Cory Doctorow called "EnShittification" - Yahoo is alienating users and customers at an accelerating rate.

Please make the select all checkbox always visible!
The only way that the Select All checkbox appears for me is if I first select an email. Please just make it ALWAYS visible!

We were obviously forced to used the "new experience". It is unfortunately much worse then the previous version. Why can't you just delay the new version until it at least have the same features as the previous one???
Example of missing feature: we can not add simply files from previous emails, we must save them first locally.
We can not simply view addresses (to, cc, bcc)…

switch back mode for people who are used to the old.
its horrible. this reminds me of windows 8 allover again. where people HATED it. its the same here now. i can't tell left from right. i can't find the stuff im looking for and this AI helper is very distracting.

I can no longer use Yahoo mail because it just displays "You have pigeon"
Give an option to revert back to the prior version, or at least make it possible to find instructions for getting the pigeon out of the way so I can get my mail.

What happened to Preferences to sort by date on Sent items?
Every other folder has a preferences option, where I can change the sort by date from oldest to newest. It no longer exists in Sent items. What happened? Please restore this capability.;

Five me back option for Basic mail!
Give me back basic mail. I can not open mail in new tabs if I want to copy something from another mail and I don't see history of my mail under my answer.

Allow user to hide the tick box in front of each email
Hi there, I noticed from the desktop mailbox now the tick box is showing at the beginning of each email. I couldn't find how to hide it and it is distractive while I am browsing my inbox. Can you please advise? The same issue happend to me last year and I received an email from Yahoo advising this change, and I replied that email and advised I wouldn like to be opted out of this change so it changed back. Slightly Greyed out Read emails
I don't think it is enough to have unread emails with bolded text and read email normal. On desktop at least, there should be more contrast at a glance between read and unread emails. Make the whole line greyed out for emails that have been opened and read, even if it's slightly so. Just like with previous versions of yahoo, like other email services do in their UI.

Too much cognitive overload, not enough personalization preferences
1) be able to disable the logo avatars next to emails, this is unnecessary visual noise and makes scanning the inbox for a senders name difficult
2) when selecting an email I would prefer a split screen view (much like you see in desktop clients) so that users can stay oriented to where they are vs moving to a full screen take over.. too many clicks and friction to read and interact with message
3) option to hide pre-headers. The subject line is typically enough to understand the email content. The additional preheader also add cognitive load, complicates the inbox…

Read email
With the latest update, or a bug, I'm not sure, all the emails are highlighted exactly the same, the only difference between a read and un-read one is the small blue bullet point in front of it.
Before, or when it was working properly, the read emails were not highlighted, but left on a black/white background (depending on the theme used, I use only dark theme), while the un-read ones were highlighted with a whiter black -
PLEASE GET RID OF THE HIDDEN HOVER UNSUBSCRIBE BUTTON!!!!!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, get rid of the hovering "Unsubscribe" button that ONLY shows up when hovering over the title of an email in the list of emails to select and read. It is way too easy for someone to accidentally click on the "Unsubscribe" hidden button when just reaching to point and click on an email title because the hidden button is not visible when moving the pointer quickly over the email title. Also, there is no way to undo this "Unsubscribe" function. This is a terrible feature for email as it is can be too easily accidentally triggered.
