SEARCH IN BODY OF EMAIL... IIRC, the old Yahoo Mail allowed you to search not just for words in the title, but also in the body of the email. The new Yahoo email appears to only allow searching for words in the title of the email.
Can we go back to the old way? -
Fix the folder search operation (for Google Chrome)
When I want to file an email in a folder and select the option to move, I usually have to then start typing the name of the folder where I want to file it. If I don't type quickly enough, it "hangs" on the first letter I've typed for what seems like a long time (20-30 seconds??) which is very annoying. I'm using Chrome as my browser. Allow to search SPAM as we do other folders
Please allow us to search the SPAM folder as we do others.
Allow sort (or search) by "To EMAIL alias" in addition to sorting by seller -

(BUG) Sign in Freezes Page When Signing in or Switching Accounts
There is an ongoing bug with new Yahoo Mail where signing in freezes the page, Freezing the page also happens when switching accounts. This was an issue a few days ago. It got fixed temporarily and now it's back again (March 15, 2025) This happens regardless of browser being used.

unsubscribe popup
Unsubscribe popup when trying to clean up emails. When using the search glass to choose all emails by a sender, list populates, then the unsubscribe icon pops up and blocks the summary of the email.This is annoying. Please remove or relocate.

Search used to work better. There should be a way to search for a phrase (as opposed to each word independently). What is the trick? And/or I want only the email that has ALL of the words in my search.

Search for words within the message content
For your free Yahoo Mail version, consider adding search filters to search for words within the body of the message.
This valuable feature existed in the previous version; in the current version, you can only search for words within the subject line, which is usually too short, so the results are unpredictable.Thanks in advance -
take down the search for mail bar
your search bar in the inbox is so big that I can not press on anything else. I have to close out the mail and go back in several times to get anything done. and I can not access my older posts because of it. this is the second time of me saying something about making this search box smaller so you can work around it, but nooo you keep it soo big it takes up half the page. fix this mistake soon please.

Searching Inbox
Search currently does not work if you have more than 25 messages based on your filter criteria, as it stops on 25 messages, and the wheel continuously churns and does not show the remaining messages.

search doesn't work in spam
Hello, the Search feature does not work for the Spam folder. even going to the Spam folder and seeing the exact email you want to search for and type in the key word and it says "there is nothing in this folder" This is a major issue as you know the automatic Spam filter is not always accurate and occasionally moves important emails to spam. Someone says they sent the email, you search and Yahoo says it's not there. That is an issue.

Search by Name
Please restore Search by Name as an option under More (3 dots) in the inbox. This was convenient to drag and drop multiple messages to another folder; or to read a series of messages from the sender. Removal of that option now requires a Search your Mail, which is imprecise, retrieving many irrelevant messages not from the sender. (Admittedly, a filter exists for search by From, but it’s not obvious)

the search feature is NOT working, I can't find items in any email box I want. I find results from years ago but nothing current. Why does the trash folder no longer show up in my list of folders?

Remove suggested results from search
When searching my inbox, I'm being served 2 emails (which I assume Yahoo is suggesting as my intended search results) above the full list of my queried emails. These 2 emails are displayed as massive thumbnails and fill half of the space within my viewport. It makes searching through the full list of queried emails much more difficult. Please allow for the option to disable this feature.

Search function is useless
Whenever I try to search for an email message I know I have, the search bar never finds it. But then when I scroll and scroll and scroll, I finally find it myself. My search used the same subject line, or I would search by the sender, and nothing. Completely useless and frustrating when you need to find something quickly.

My emails are disappearing after I send them. I've sent two emails today and cannot find them in the sent folder

Aside from hating this new version and wanting yahoo basic back, the search is useless to me without being able to search for a word in the body of the email. When I want to see all the emails in my inbox asking for a "donation" I do not expect search to say there are none when there are hundreds! This sucks!

Frequent Yahoo Mail Search Errors
Over the last ~6 months, I am frequently encountering performance errors (e.g., "An error occurred while trying to fetch the items in this list. Retry." for Starred items); inability to load email content on older messages; grinding slow/no results when trying to page back in Inbox or Sent mail folders for messages only a few months old. These issues are becoming so constant that I am using other email accounts for more reliable communication. What's going on with your backend Yahoo?! John
