Wow, people in the comments lack foresight. Sure, there might be more than 1 undefeated team at the end of the year in this format, but if that's teh case, then those teams would deserve to be undefeated. Tiebreakers would obviously be points scored, and then the top 4-6 teams would qualify for the playoffs with 1 week HTH elimination weeks against each other. This idea submitted is terrific and solves the problem of the 2nd highest scoring team losing to the highest scoring team just because of schedule.

On Thursday, September 18th 2014, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense gave up 50 points to the Atlanta Falcons. In default Yahoo settings, they were only penalized -4 fantasy points. In my custom league, I set it so that defenses who allowed 35+ points were penalized -8 instead of the default -4. However, this is still too little, considering how badly Tampa Bay played.

    My Suggestion:
Defenses start out with 10 fantasy points for zero points allowed. Every time they allow a point, they are subtracted 0.5 fantasy points, so a touchdown with an extra point kick would lead to (7x0.5) = -3.5 fantasy points, or 6.5 fantasy points total for giving up 7 points. Once a defense gives up 20 points, they are at the point where they receive 0 fantasy points, and every point after that, will result in -0.5 fantasy points.

In this setting, Tampa Bay defense would have received -15 fantasy points for giving up 50 points to the Falcons last night. With their sacks, turnovers, and TDs (1+2+6+6=15), they would have ended up with an overal score of 0 fantasy points for their performance last night.

I wish Yahoo would allow commissioners to implement settings like this. I think this is the most fair.

Forget mock drafts, they should make their public leagues follow this roster format. I hate that they make 3 WR the default.
