Just like the comments board, this thread too is crawling with Russian trolls on the Putin payroll and no doubt other foreign mercenary state-sponsored actors, all pretending to be Americans. Unsurprising, and just as I predicted when I started this thread 11/1/2017. before it was later inexplicably merged into another thread.

I started this thread and posted the original comment in this thread (now inexplicably downgraded to a comment appearing at the end of the thread) and addressed it directly to Yahoo management and moderators way back on Nov 1, 2017. As of today the thread has made it all the way up the rankings to 23rd, but it's still "gathering feedback" . When the **** are Yahoo staff going to get around to responding?

More importantly, when is Yahoo going to stop cynically greedily shirking your civic responsibility in favor of the exponential increase in ad revenue that you receive from the exponential increase in argumentative comment activity -- all spurred on by disruptive combative state-sponsored foreign trolls?

When are you going to address the very real threats to our American democracy and to our very system of government your inaction poses by allowing these combative state sponsored foreign trolls pretending to be Americans to run roughshod through the Yahoo News comments board -- dividing real American from real American through a targeted campaign of disruption, antagonism, propaganda and flat out lies?

    SAY SOMETHING!!! DO SOMETHING, DAMMIT!!!!!

@MidiMagic - I fail to see any logic in your theory that Yahoo tolerates Kremlin sponsored Russian trolls because they share ownership with HuffPost under the Oath umbrella. As an aside, I checked your very prolific post history, and it reveals a distinct obsession with so-called "liberal bias" throughout the media, at least any media that does not hew to a hardcore rightwing ideology or wacko conspiracy theories. Regarding those Yahoo users who call out phony so-called "conservative" posters and identify them as prolific mercenary Russian trolls, quite often one is virtually indistinguishable from the other.

p.s. What is meant by "Nut"????

I would be delighted if anyone from Yahoo would seriously respond to my comment posted ten days ago. Naturally I'm not holding my breath as you continue to ignore this grave assault on American democracy and continue to profit by raking in ad revenue.

The Yahoo News comments board is being overrun by thousands of Russian internet trolls, bots and cyborgs. It couldn't be more obvious. Anyone who's been paying any attention knows this is an active and aggressive internet campaign run by Russian intelligence at the direction of totalitarian tyrant Vladimir Putin. The objective, quite successful so far, is to weaponize cyberspace - to spread propaganda and disinformation, to sow rancor and further inflame political divisions among Americans, with the ultimate goal of undermining our democracy and weakening our global alliances and influence. WHAT IS VERIZON/YAHOO DOING ABOUT IT?!

Are you thrilled by the exponentially increased participation on your news comments board - resulting in vastly increased ad revenue? Are you ignoring it just as long as you can, as other huge internet companies have done? Are you waiting to be hauled onto the congressional carpet to account for your non-action like your big brother internet companies [Facebook, Google and Twitter] were today? Are you going to do the right and patriotic thing, that is, move proactively decisively and aggressively to identify and stamp out this very real and very grave threat to America? Or are you going to ignore it as long as possible regardless of the damage done, while putting your profit margins and share price ahead of American democracy and global peace and stability? Inquiring Yahoo users, indeed all decent concerned Americans, would like to know.

Now that Marissa Mayer is out, who IS currently the top dog overseeing Yahoo News these days? Is it 'Oath' CEO Tim Armstrong? Since the Verizon buyout it's hard to figure this out, what with Yahoo being sliced, diced and distributed among various 'divisions'. Bottom line, WHO'S IN CHARGE of the Yahoo News comments board, WHAT ARE YOU DOING about this Russian cyber invasion, and WHO'S GOING TO TAKE ULTIMATE RESPONSIBILITY for inaction ? Again, inquiring Yahoo users and all decent concerned Americans would like to know.

p.s. I can hardly wait to see the responses from Putin's Troll Army to follow. At least it will make it that much easier for you to identify them. I wonder if they earn their rubles by the hour or by the post?

The new homepage design may be okay for smart phones (I wouldn't know, I have a dumb phone), but it's horrible on laptops and tablets. Moreover, out of the tens of thousands (hundreds of thousands?) of comments on the feedback forum I can hardly find one remotely positive review from anyone who likes the new format - smart phone users included. If you're to stubborn to admit your mistake and go back to the previous homepage format, at least give us that option for out laptops and tablets. Thanks.

Yahoo's announcement page launching the new homepage design ends with: "We can’t wait to hear what you think, so share your ideas and feedback for Yahoo on the web, iOS and Android". Likewise, directly above the suggestion box Yahoo says: "Hi, please share your suggestions, we are listening". What a joke.

Even a cursory scroll through the feedback forum reveals that Yahoo users without exception all HATE the new webpage design. Maybe it's acceptable for some smart phone users, but on laptops and tablets it's an unmitigated disaster, and longtime users have made that point abundantly clear.

Will Yahoo "listen" to its users this time? Maybe when they see their usage drop off precipitously or when enough loyal users abandon Yahoo in favor of better more user friendly email/news providers.

Does anyone actually ever read these comments? Does anyone at Yahoo actually care what your users want (or don't want)? If so, you would realize from reading the feedback that your users - especially longterm users - overwhelmingly HATE the senseless changes to the homepage and changes to mail that you force on us with no warning. Sadly,it seems we users are just screaming into the wind with our feedback. Clearly no one at Yahoo gives a **** what we think.
