Hey, brainiacs at Yahoo! (lol, that exclamation point...), you took away the only things that I kept you for. Why do the open emails not go into tabs? Why do they have to float like disengaged and thus irrelevant bubbles above the email list? Why did you decide to color code the name chiclets? To distract me from actually looking at the email addresses so I don't catch spam as easily and am forced to pull my eye away from the color list to focus on whether or not something is new? You have now gone from something simple and elegant (which maybe is why you hated it???) to some cheap low rent Google-copy trash email design. The Google design is not good - the thing google is good at is aggregating links and surfacing connections to drive search results.... and advertising, or at least they were. You guys are good at sports, finance, and email. But you decided if the one thing that I paid you for was not worth it to you, you would drive me over to use the one of so, so many google email addresses that I have and do not use (because Google is a terrible email handler - you were good). I get that you *have to revolutionize* or *change or die* or whatever nonsense your PMs are telling you, but could you actually get out of the ridiculous bro/tech/savant headspace for one minute and actually understand your consumer? You should take a page from Disney or Coke. They haven't messed with the Coke formula -- oh wait, they did. Remember what happened? No? Look it up. RIP Yahoo(! lol) email.
