The new version is clunky and feels visually cluttered, yet provides less informational density and ease of use than the classic version. This is exceedingly poor graphic design work. Poor form over function. To top things of, as others have pointed out, no one asked for this, and forcing it on users feels dictatorial and contemptuous. This is change for change sake, for the worse. I wager if you offered the option for users to revert back to the classic version, they would. Not strictly because of habit, but because it was better. Try it, and see. Thanks for nothing; will be migrating to Outlook.

Form over function. To top things off, as others have pointed out, no one asked for this, and forcing it on users feels dictatorial and contemptuous. This is change for change sake, for the worse. I wager if you offered the option for users to revert back to the classic version, a majority of them would. Not strictly out of habit, mind you, but simply because it was better. Try it, and see!
In the meantime, I'll be migrating to Outlook.

I need a setting option to switch to a dark mode version of Basic Mail. Alternatively: a way to revert to the old mail interface — before the NEW so-called "Standard Version". Also, there is something despotic about wanting to impose a new interface ( for no apparent reason, but change-sake! ) when many, if not most, people were content with the old one. Makes me consider switching back to Outlook for my daily needs.
