I clicked on a notification in the upper right corner of my yahoo mail account it said try our new Yahoo. I want to go back to my original formate. Cab you help?
Agent said
You may be able to switch back. In Yahoo Mail on a desktop browser, look in the upper-right corner for “Go back to the old Yahoo Mail” and select it.
If that option isn’t shown, the older version is no longer available for your account. Your emails, folders, contacts, and calendar remain in the same mailbox.

If that option was there, I would have selected it. So, Yahoo deliberately wanted to trick it's clients into changing without giving any indication that if they clicked the "try button" it was a one-way transfer with no way back!!!!!!! The screen that shows the contents of the EW-mail is too small; it collapses the body of the message down to about 2 inches, its not usable. I need to have this fixed

I can see why that layout would be frustrating. Although the older version cannot be restored when the option is no longer shown, you can make the reading area much larger in the new Mail layout.
Try this first: hover at the far right edge of the email list and select the expand icon. This minimizes the right-side panel and gives messages more room.
You can also change the message layout:
In Yahoo Mail on a desktop browser, select More options, then Settings.
Select Appearances.
Under Message layout, choose Bottom instead of Right.
That places the email beneath the message list, which usually provides a wider reading area.

Nether of those options are available Is there a real person that i can talk to?

I’d like to help you get this usable again. A couple of things can change which layout controls appear, so let’s narrow it down quickly.
Are you using Yahoo Mail in:
a desktop web browser, or
the Yahoo Mail app on a phone or tablet?
Also, when you open an email, is the message showing in a reading pane next to your inbox list, or does it open by itself on a full page?
With those 2 details, I can give you the right steps for the version you’re seeing.

I’m sorry the controls I described aren’t appearing in your version of Mail. Yahoo’s current guidance is that Classic and Basic Mail can no longer be restored for desktop accounts.
To identify why the reading area is so narrow, please tell me whether you’re using Yahoo Mail in a desktop browser or in the Yahoo Mail app on a phone or tablet.

My phone is unchanged; the problem is with my desktop. Again, I didn't ask to have format changed the first time; the button said it was just to try! The message is showing in a reading pane next to the inbox list

You’re using the right-side preview pane, which is why the email body is narrow. In the current desktop Yahoo Mail, the supported way to make it wider is to change the message layout from Right to Bottom:
Click the More options icon near the top of Mail.
Select Settings.
Select Appearance.
Under Message layout, select Bottom.
That keeps the inbox list above the email and gives the message the full width of the window.
Since those controls are not appearing for you, please tell me what icons or menu choices you see at the top-right of your Yahoo Mail page, especially whether there is a three-dot More options icon or a gear-shaped Settings icon.

I found the more button it was at the bottom of the index list on the far left.
Agent said
That’s the correct More options button. Click it, then select Settings.
In Settings, choose Appearances, then under Message layout select Bottom. This moves the email preview below the inbox list, giving the message much more width.

I went through that process; it is not right either. What was yahoo intent in tricking its clients to change their format1

The Yahoo guidance describes the change as an update to the desktop Mail experience, with a new look and tools. It also states that Classic and Basic Mail are no longer available for desktop accounts, so switching back is not available.
I can see why selecting “Try it out” without finding a workable layout afterward feels frustrating. Yahoo does provide a way to submit feedback about the change: go to Yahoo Help Central, select Yahoo Mail, then choose Give product feedback.

can you just pass the information directly to them. that way you could explain all of the options that I have tried
