I have used Yahoo Mail for well on 25 years now because it is simple and easy to look at. It isn't- wasn't bogged down by excessive screen space utilization, it didn't forcefully show you the icon of the sender in the email list, it was just a simple list that was easy to look at, with no extra clutter. The dark mode is too dark with the text too bright, and the light mode is too bright, and there is no ability to make it so either option is less intense. The way emails were clustered together based on a date category showing above those emails made it easier at a glance to know when those emails were sent. Everything about this seems like it's trying to imitate gmail. if I wanted to use gmail, I'd be using gmail.
I'm not sure why I am bothering to post this when I know this won't change anything, and I'll just be met with "Just give it a try! You might like it!"
If I wanted to give it a try, I would have given it a try the 10 other times you forced me to use it but kept the "Go Back" button. If I liked it, I wouldn't have used the "Go Back" button.
These are changes being made for the sake of making changes to appease shareholders. I don't expect anything to change, but I wanted to air my frustrations all the same. Maybe things will improve when compact view is implemented, and maybe things will improve when the ability to set a color tone that isn't pure black or white is available.
