  1. Get rid of the ads, and focus on real news, not fashion, sports, gossip. Yahoo is currently looking more similar to a tabloid rag.

    The way you started placing a large ad in between the big headlines at the top of your page is beyond tacky. You have enough ad revenue from the ads between the articles so why do you feel the need to add even more and even larger ads now? Are you trying to advertise how desperate (or just greedy) Yahoo is for ad money? Have some consideration for your readers who come to your page for news, not to be bombarded with ads. If you keep adding more and even larger ads you may lose your readers all together.
