Please improve your news section - hide specific sites and allow for filtering of content
Sadly, your "news" page is no longer news. It has been littered with articles from really far-left outlets (Mic, Uproxx, etc..) and instead of allowing users to filter somehow, your content filtering centers around only the categories of the content itself, rather than the actual publisher of the content. Until you guys actually publish news (instead of putting opinion pieces from non-news outlets in the forefront), I'm going to have to go elsewhere - I've loyally gone to your news site for years, and have watched it spiral downward. When there are inflamatory articles as with the LA times You should be able to comment without doing facebook or anything like that.
Allow comments on articles without using facebook or any other sign up option. IE: LA Times

Rid of Random adds
Remove the ad that plays randomly on your news page - forcing people to seek another web page without the ad that randomly plays. You can mute the sound but the minute you move the mouse it comes on with the next ad. I understand you need the advertisers but what good are they when they are costing you people leaving your site because of them?!

Bring back the one click, open FULL story feature. Also, bring back the replies to comments made feature, as it is important to find out if someone disagrees with someones point of view, the other comment provider has a chance to defend their thinking.

What happened to "My Comments" in the News section???
The new news format is horrible. What good is it to be able to comment on stories and not be notified, as before, on responses to my comments? Yahoo news is now just another "Readers' Digest" news section. I can instantly read the same news stories on MSN news with one click without having to sign in and maintain a Yahoo account. For this reason I now spend little time on Yahoo News and Yahoo is loosing revenue from the ads I don't see because of my short visits.
Bring back the "My Comments" function please.
