On the reasons why Yahoo removed our ability to be commmenting on the news.
Many people who want to see the comments restored are accusing Yahoo of silencing conservative readers but I disagree with them. If you read the comments at all you would have seen comments posted by those who did not support either Trump's agendas nor the GOP's. Liberal Democrats have been silenced on here too! The one thing that we are both on the same page in these forums is that commenting should be restored.

How would you suggest Yahoo address harmful abuse from trump cultists and Russian troll accounts? How should Yahoo address deliberate efforts to undermine America's free press with the spamming of "fake news" accusations in response to vetted, verified, factual information? How should Yahoo address deliberate and dangerous misinformation posted on their site intended to maximize the spread of COVID-19 in the U.S.? Or deliberate efforts to inflame racial tensions? Or meddle in our elections with Kremlin-approved propaganda?
Let's hear it. Let's hear your suggestions.
Really, anyone who feels "silenced" has the option to use social websites that have the resources to deal with abuse. And anyone is free to set up their own forum at their expense and assume the liabilities that come with it.
To be clear, Yahoo is under no obligation to provide a forum, and accusations that they removed their comments section due to any "bias" are without merit.
