Playoffs - Odd number of teams and more Bye week options
This playoff format would allow for an odd number of teams in the playoffs and other options for Bye weeks in the first week of playoffs. Currently, this is not an option for playoff formats.

Agreed! Please add the 2-week playoff matches before the season starts!! We have been playing yahoo fantasy baseball for 13 straight years, but if the necessary changes are not made we will consider switching to CBS.

Especially during the shortened all star week.

Interesting idea. Would be great in football too.

I wouldnt count on much of anything being changed before this season...while Yahoo usually does put a considerable amount of feedback into use, it usually doesnt happen immediately. Now that were only a month and change from baseball season I wouldnt expect anything but the most minimal of features to be added, but hey one can hope I guess. I have like 3 or 4 features that i would love to have for this season but I'm going in expecting nothing.

Please, let's get this done before the season starts! Would make a huge difference

I would kill for this feature haha. It also would help to avoid issues such as Rookies being shut-down due to innings limits, thus potentially screwing you right before playoffs start...i know that's happened to a lot of people, myself included, and it would be nice to be able to end the fantasy season before all these issues arise toward the end of the MLB season.

I agree too. Considering switching our H2H league to Yahoo due some other features, but lack of 2-week playoff matches may force me to stick with status quo. Given a 10-team league, 18 one-week matches (play all teams twice) followed by six weeks of playoffs works well.

Absolutely - this needs to be done!! For ALL playoff weeks!

I'd also like this option to return, not just for the championship but give us the option for ALL playoff weeks. Cant tell you how annoying it is to have someone lose a playoff matchup due solely to their opponent having more players play that week. The months of research and team building just go right down the drain. At least with 2 week playoff matchups usually if you have a lot of players 1 week chances are the week after you wont have as many and it will equal out.

We are looking into adding 2 weeks for the championship round.

At least give custom league options.

Our league would like the option to have 2 full weeks for each of the playoff matchups as well. Is there any possibility of this happening?

The odd thing is that Yahoo used to have this option. For several years we had two-week (full weeks) championship matchups. 14 days is a good length of time when you're talking about crowning a champion. Then when MLB went to ending the season on a Wednesday, Yahoo understandably went to a 10-day championship. But MLB has since returned to ending the season on a Sunday, yet suddnely Yahoo couldn't figure out how to offer a two-week championship anymore?
By the way, this is something Yahoo should adopt for hockey and basketball as well. Again, they used to, but then mysteriously stopped!

ESPN has this feature and I would love to see yahoo have it. Baseball is a very long fantasy season, and many people lose interest as soon as fantasy football starts up. The perfect solution would be to have an option that allows commissioners to start the playoffs in early August instead of mid-September. That way the league is a reasonable number of weeks, and it's finished right before fantasy football starts. You REALLY need to add this option!

I agree, but I would like the option of having two week match-ups for the entire postseason (or entire regular season as well).

Two week match ups would cut down on lucky / fluke victories, as 6 games of a player's statistics are not generally representative of that player's overall ability (~12 games would be much closer).
The baseball season is long enough for two week match ups to be practical - and if not in the regular season, for certain in the fantasy postseason, where lucky / fluke victories sting bitterly.

This will allow leagues to have a more simulated MLB experience. These options are already provided on a competitors page, and would help keep Yahoo! on top of the fantasy mountain.

Is there anyway that you could give the option of having an MLB style playoffs? For example, in my league we have an AL East & West, and and NL East & West. We would like to do a playoff where the division winners in the AL just play each other and the division winners in the NL just play each other, with the AL and NL just meeting in the championship.

agreed. H2H results should ALWAYS be the 1st tiebreaker.
