Playoffs - Two week playoff matchups
This feature would allow commissioners to implement 2 week long playoff matchups for their league.
It keeps all teams active for the entire season. Eliminates tanking and lack of attention for those teams no longer interested in trying to win head-to-head matchups late in the season. We tie draft picks for the following season to the "B" playoffs (ie if you win the B playoffs, you get the #1 pick next year).
What a joke, it was the only new feature for this year and they couldn't even do it.
Can we have this now please?

Please change the options to allow for all playoff matchups to be 2 weeks, AT LEAST have the finals be over the period of 2 weeks!!
NHL Playoff Pickem!
how much feedback do you need, Yahoo?!?!??!
We have requested this for the past 4 years, since it was a standard option up to the 2010 season (Olympic year). You had (temporarily, we thought) removed it due to the condensed schedule for the Olympics. However, you failed to bring it back and I haven't yet heard one legitimate explanation on why you haven't brought it back. All I had received in response was 'request to product team for new suggestions etc'.
It's not new, you just haven't brought it back for some unknown reason.

Please bring this back as the last week is like a shirst week as many teams sit their players.

Each league is different and I think this is a good way to allow for a more competitive and fair way of gauging the winner(s).
It can be put fourth as a vote in the league so it will be adjusted to needs of each league accordingly.

This is far and away my biggest problem with Yahoo Fantasy Hockey. They took it away 2 week finals a couple of years ago with no explanation or warning, and then they have even told me that it never existed! Get your act together Yahoo, ESPN fantasy is starting to look more and more appealing.

While I agree that it wouldn't hurt to make it optional, there are plenty of occasions where it makes sense to have consolation playoffs. For example, leagues might use the consolation bracket to encourage active participation from all managers the entire year, even if some managers are out of the playoff hunt. There might be a cash prize for the winner of the consolation bracket. I know of plenty of fantasy football leagues that use the consolation bracket to determine next years draft order. So 4th place has first round pick, 5th place has 2nd, etc.
But like I said, there might not be any harm in having the option to skip the consolation bracket. I don't see why players simply couldn't ignore it though. I'm in 9th place in one of my hockey leagues and haven't really paid attention to it, because why would I? It's not like I'm obligateded to stay checked in after the season ends.

Fully endorse this! The grind through the regular season, and then the tightly contested playoff matchups make it so hard to get to the finals, and settling the finals in one week is tough to swallow. Having the option for 2 weeks would be welcomed.

Please, please, please consider implementing this for next year. I really am kinda sad to see this is still in "gathering feedback" after 1.5 years. It really would make yahoo fantasy hockey much better.
You are correct that there is currently no option to have a 2 week championship.

Can this please happen for this playoff season! Every league should be able to have this option if they wish. Our leagues playoffs happen in 5 1/2 weeks. Please help us

Wont happen, Yahoo doesn't make changes anymore. Sorry to burst your bubble but they've given up. If you don't believe me take a look at some of the other Top Rated posts on this forum and see how long they've been active and if Yahoo has done anything about them. Might as well move your league to ESPN if you want this feature. (P.S. I really want this feature too).
You do not have the option to make it over the final two weeks in baseball. You have the option to finish early before key players on non contenders get benched for the year or stars on contenders get rested for the playoffs. If you choose the later playoffs it overlaps into the last week. It is not a full two week playoff.
At the ends of seasons schedules aren't always full and the last two weeks get combined by default if you choose the late option in settings.
Regardless of the sport the last week of the season is most times a waste of your high drafts because unless they are fighting for a playoff spot they are being rested.
A prime example is baseball and great young pitcher who are put on "pitch counts" they do not play at the end of the season and a team that was great in the heart of the season get beat by a 4th place fantasy chump because his midseason lineup is sitting on the bench.
There should be a playoff pool, would be a good option for us in keeper leagues to change it up!

YES YES YES. Regardless of if some teams rest their star players in that final week of play, it should at least be an option for leagues and commissioners. It's silly to have that many games in the last week, and not be counted in a hockey pool. Essentially a player's stats in our pool only count for 79 games? Give us more options Yahoo!

My idea is to create a playoff format that isnt offered in any other league generator. First off we should have the abilty to have 2 week long finals since it is the most important week of the year and often most players are benched or playing limiting roles while waiting for their playoffs to begin. Second I feel that we should create a mini-series option. Instead of scoring total points for the 2 weeks in the finals, i think leagues should be able to have what I call a mini-series option in where teams can play a mini best of 3 series for each playoff matchup. If every playoff matchup was 14 days then you can have the first 5 days as one game, the second 5 days as a second game and the remaining 4 days as the final game. As soon as a team wins 2 out of 3 matches they move on to the next round and win the series. If a team won the first 2 games then the last remaining 4 days would count for nothing. This would prevent a team from having an incrediable unattaiable 2 days to start the week which can become unreachable for the other team.
Just a possible thing to look at
