Scoring - Position specific scoring categories
This scoring setting change would allow commissioners to change the scoring value for common scoring categories for each position individually (ex: forwards and defensemen). Currently you can only change the scoring value for all positions at once.

Can forwards and defensmen have differents scoring settings this year in Yahoo Fantasy Hockey. I would like to make my pool with this type of scoring settings :
F : Goals : 2 Assists : 1
D : Goals : 3 Assists : 2
Is it possible to add this feature this year ? Thanks! -

Im in the league with Robb and without this stat we wont be switching. Forget it. Ive been in pools where defenceman are undervalued and its dumb how big the gap is. ESPN is just better.

I currently have a league on ESPN and we're very happy with ESPN as a whole. The only downside to ESPN is that they don't allow draft pick trading during the season. That's pretty much it. Yahoo has that but doesn't have some major features such as defencemen points. It's really sad that both sites have different issues and you have to pick between the lesser of two evils so to speak. I wonder which site will budge first and actually start listening to feedback first. Tick tock.

Why would you do this? Forwards should be rewarded for hits and blocks the same as the D should be rewarded for goals and assists. I'm not calling you dumb, but your idea and your league kind of are.

This is an idea I've had as well. It makes sense, and yes officepools does it.. I would add a UTIL spot for my league and just count PIM's for a "goon". This needs to happen. So many options would open up.

Is this ever going to be implemented? Seems like it's been under review for over a year now - I don't understand what could possibly be so time consuming about resolving a relatively simple issue like this, one way or another. I would like to see this implemented NOW, for the 14-15 season ... there are simply too many other viable options out there for Yahoo to sit back and be slow at taking action.

ESPN offers a category called "Defensemen Points" for head-to-head category leagues. We actually draft in Yahoo, and then move to ESPN for the regular season. The ESPN keeper options are what force us to draft on Yahoo.
We would rather stay with yahoo, but the lack of a Defensemen Points category turns us away.

Having an option to have separate stat categories for defense makes them on par with forwards,

Is this still a possibility for the 2014-2015 season?

If you have a keeper pool based of the NHL, why would you want to discount hits and blocks from offensive players? That is like excluding goals and assists from defensive players. If a player gets a goal, it is a goal no matter their position. If a player gets a hit, it is still a hit whether they are a forward or defense.
You want your league to value D, but you are devaluing two-way forwards who are great on defense! This is a bad suggestion.

This will give people to customize their leagues further, separating forward stats and defense stats make defensemen more valuable. Adding corsi would be great too;)

This really needs to implemented, otherwise we'll be switching to a competitors hockey league.

Should be a category for defensemen, if their goalie (team) gets a shutout, it should be a point value if they played in the game.

What type of scoring format are you utilizing? Rotisserie?

I agree that this is a huge issue and would make Yahoo by far the best option for our keeper pool. With the current system Defencemen are way under valued.

when a topic is "under review", what are the chances of this being implemented for the upcoming 2013-14 season?
