Rosters - Position eligibility requests 2025-26
Position eligibility requests for the 2025-26 season.
We will continue evaluating players for new positions going forward and make updates where appropriate.
Full list of updated players for the 25/26 season: https://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/hockey/playerchanges?type=pos
As of 10/4/23, we added the option for Commissioners to award position eligibility to players who haven't earned it by Yahoo Fantasy's standards yet. Keep in mind, this tool will only allow commissioners to add positions, not edit or remove them, and you won't be able to assign Forwards or Defensemen with Goalie eligibility and vice versa. Commissioners can add new positions using the steps here: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/position-eligibility-fantasy-hockey-sln7057.html

Is this the place to comment or is there a new sub-forum for the new season? Anyway the position-updates seem ever more severe this season.
We're on our 14th season with a 14 team keeper league. 20 keepers on each team. After the launch of the new season this is the count of players in each position (the few with double eligibility is counted once for each position).
LW - 56
C - 85
RW - 35That's a total of 176 position eligibilities and about 170 forwards (very few now have double eligibility).
Yahoo: Are you telling us there are _more_ than twice as many centers in the league as right wingers?
Are you telling us there are 60% more left wingers in the league than right wingers?

Why does this happen year after year....how can we draft a proper team if we can't find multi-positional players on the draft roster...they were there a week ago but now nothing...last year this happened as well...how can you play 2-3 positions one day and the next your a center and thats all....come on Yahoo...it's not brain surgery....

Position eligibility is all messed up. Adrian Kempe has played maybe 4 games at C the past two years yet that is the only position he is eligible for. I am in a keeper league and every RW I had last year has suddenly become exclusively a LW or C. Please get this fixed soon.

When will these take effect? For example, Dylan Cozens is listed as having LW added, however he is still listed as C only in my league. In fact, there isn't anyone listed with multiple position eligibility in the league.

Please add C eligibility to Buchnevich. He's been rostered in that position for the last 9 games.

Re: Byfield he has been playing LW since December 31st apparently (I hadn't realized it was that long until reading this article: https://hockeyroyalty.com/2023/03/21/la-kings-a-star-is-emerging-in-quinton-byfield/)

Roope Hintz, C/RW. Positionally plays right wing in the defensive and neutral zone, not just off of draws he doesn’t take.
