Rosters - Position eligibility requests 2025-26
Position eligibility requests for the 2025-26 season.
We will continue evaluating players for new positions going forward and make updates where appropriate.
Full list of updated players for the 25/26 season: https://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/hockey/playerchanges?type=pos
As of 10/4/23, we added the option for Commissioners to award position eligibility to players who haven't earned it by Yahoo Fantasy's standards yet. Keep in mind, this tool will only allow commissioners to add positions, not edit or remove them, and you won't be able to assign Forwards or Defensemen with Goalie eligibility and vice versa. Commissioners can add new positions using the steps here: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/position-eligibility-fantasy-hockey-sln7057.html

Hintz, Tage Thompson, Andrei Svechnkov, and Hubreadeau should all be given RW by now. We play in leagues for real money, you keep saying there are some vague criteria for position eligibility. For example, Hintz has spent more time as an RW than JT Miller, yet Miller got RW. It is hard to know if I am picking up good players or trading for good players when I don't know if they will get the positions they deserve, and it will cost me real money. Can you please specify what is the standard procedure and what quantifiable standards are needed to be met to get a position? It is way too vague of a process right now and needs to be more transparent. Right now it is just hoping some employee at Yahoo subjectively feels like a player should get a position. This is no way to run this app. Please let us know the exact criteria and thresholds needed to be met for a player.

Does anyone at Yahoo even check this page? The time it takes to update player position eligibility is RIDICULOUS.

Roope Hintz continues to split C/RW roles with linemate Joe Pavelski who is also C/RW. Thank you.

Tage Thompson, Hubreadau, Hintz, and Svechnikov should all be given RW by now. Especially Hintz, it is a joke at this point he hasn't been given it yet.

Barzal should be eligible for RW. He very often plays on the RW with Brock Nelson.
Lee-Nelson-Barzal is a very common line combo.

Adjust these players to WHEELER C/RW, PERRON LW/RW.
Honestly don't know why there's constant changing every **** year. If they are currently playing, or have played multi-positions in the past.....JUST LEAVE IT

to whom does this job. dailyfaceoff.com and leftwinglock.com are your best resources. if you're just relying on the nhl.com event summaries you are missing the lineups the coaches actually submitted for the game. i suspect this is what is going on with Hintz, Barzal, Hayes etc. clearly a lot of people fed up.
