Rosters - Position eligibility requests 2024-25
Position eligibility requests for the 2024-25 season.
We will continue evaluating players for new positions going forward and make updates where appropriate.
Full list of updated players for the 23/24 season: https://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/hockey/playerchanges?type=pos
As of 10/4/23, we added the option for Commissioners to award position eligibility to players that haven't earned it by Yahoo Fantasy's standards yet. Keep in mind, this tool will only allow commissioners to add positions, not edit or remove them and you won't be able to assign Forwards or Defensemen with Goalie eligibility and vice versa. Commissioners can add new positions using the steps here: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/position-eligibility-fantasy-hockey-sln7057.html

Pettersson doesn't take half the faceoffs and therefor spends time playing the wing. He also plays center in the defensive zone whenever he's not with someone like Brandon Sutter. Why is he not W eligible?

Copp plays center on the Jets’s second line. 21 minutes a game. He needs Center eligibility.

Chris Kreider played all four games on the right wing. This should be added. Thanks!

Way too many posts about this dating back to last season. Takes up about 80% of the topics..... Needs to be cleaned up.

Once again Oshie is playing C on the 3rd line and has done so multiple times in the past this year. He still needs C eligibilty

Almost all wings change position on the PP in order to have better angles for shots. There is absolutely no reason to give him RW as he never plays it at even strength.

Bran Marchand has been playing RW intermittently on the powerplay, with Nick Ritchie taking the LW. He should be LW/RW

one face-off in the last SEVEN games... come on yahoo, all we ask for is consistency

Just a look at the game log and you can see the need for a RW designation. Takes no faceoffs. Most likely only when Miller is waved out.

Can someone explain too me how Blake Wheeler gets a C designation after a few week of taking face offs, yet Elias Pettersson is C, but plays the wing. What criteria is being used to determine this. Pettersson should have a W designation..

He takes zero face-offs. Miller takes them all. You have far less guys with dual position eligibility than this.
Thank you

Come on Yahoo. A high profile player has not taken a single face-off in two games. He has taken only two face-offs in the last four games. This should be on your radar already.

Needs a W tag

Why does he not have winger eligibility yet?

According to https://www.capfriendly.com/players/elias-pettersson
