Rosters - Position eligibility requests 2025-26
Position eligibility requests for the 2025-26 season.
We will continue evaluating players for new positions going forward and make updates where appropriate.
Full list of updated players for the 25/26 season: https://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/hockey/playerchanges?type=pos
As of 10/4/23, we added the option for Commissioners to award position eligibility to players who haven't earned it by Yahoo Fantasy's standards yet. Keep in mind, this tool will only allow commissioners to add positions, not edit or remove them, and you won't be able to assign Forwards or Defensemen with Goalie eligibility and vice versa. Commissioners can add new positions using the steps here: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/position-eligibility-fantasy-hockey-sln7057.html

Brady Tkachuk as C,LW for sure. Would be more than fair if I compare it to other players!

Brady Tkachuk for C,LW he has been centre for Ottawa's top PP unit since the season began! Taking at least 5-10 faceoffs a game maybe more.He has also already taken 400 faceoffs this season.

Josh Norris returns tonight from shoulder injury. Coach DJ Smith has stated specifically that they are lining him with Claude Giroux who is going to take faceoffs and Norris will slot over at RW in order to keep pressure off of him returning after a long absence. Norris should get RW eligibility as he will be sharing that as well as C responsibility with Giroux.

Nathan MacKinnon is slotting at RW with Evan Rodrigues taking faceoffs at points throughout the game since the line of Lehkonen-Rodrigues-MacKinnon was put together several games ago. Please adjust his position accordingly.

Alex DeBrincat needs RW eligibility. Not only has he been playing RW on Ottawa's top line, Yahoo even has him listed as RW(1) in the player research tab.

Making players like Tage Thompson eligible for wing requires roope hintz to become eligible. This is no longer making sense on your part.

Nathan MacKinnon as RW, over the past 10 games he has consistently lined up as a RW during that span and at least 5% lines to the right of Rodrigues. A significant amount of Faceoffs he is on the wing and should be eligible as such

What's the reasoning why this dude isn't being assigned the RW eligibility? If you watch the actual games you can see how is more a RW than a C. The duo designation is far more appropriate than what I've seen of others, the due diligence should be done by now.

Please assign Roope Hintz C,RW.
He alternates playing RW and C with Pavelski, who takes more faceoffs than Hintz does. -

Roope Hintz consistently plays both C and RW, yet continues to only have C eligibility. Hintz and Pavelski frequently switch positions not only during faceoffs, but also during play in which Hintz will go RW along the boards with Pavelski going net front as a C would do. Per that example which happens often in each Stars game, Hintz should have the same C/RW designations as his linemate Pavelski. Thank you.
