rules and forwarding
Allow forwarding certain emails based on defined rules / filters: nowadays one can only forward ALL emails to 1 address and that's really poor functionality - I'm actually considering switching to GMail for this reason alone.
Thank you

How is Rule-based forwarding not base functionality in Yahoo Mail? This is offered by just about every provider and email platform on earth? I mean you are Yahoo for goodness sake, this should be #1 on your list. Come on Devs, this is easy to implement.

How to forward specific emails to gmail

A very basic type of filter that other providers are providing and continue to be missing from Yahoo mail is the filter to forward selected sender's email to another email address. Gmail provides this functionality how every I do not like their interface where dedicated folders are missing to drag and drop emails to.
Wish Yahoo team can add this filter.

Ditto to all other comments. One hack I'm trying is forward all yahoo email to gmail, then use their rich forwarding rules: (from: xxxx@yahoo.com contains: {interesting filter criteria).
I think this is essential for personal emails - at least anyone that has a kid that does activities.
I'm really disappointed it doesn't even work for Mail Pro - I expected it to, and it was a big part of the reasons I subscribed (no ads is nice, but I can live with ads). -

I would like to see this as there are several scenarios that merit forwarding even for personal use. Specifically, I may want UPS delivery notifications sent to my wife upon receipt. This is a function that is easy to do with a free gmail account. I pay for Pro email and can't do this. Given the 75% increase in the subscription rate, can I expect more features in mail or is it just a revenue shot for Verizon?

Many security devices and home monitoring equipment only send out email alerts and not text messages. I would like to use a filter to automatically forward the email alert to another email address that I specify. EX: I am currently doing this in google. When I get an email alert I have a filter to check that it is from my temperature device and it automatically forwards it to my phone number as a text so I get the text immediately. Emails only get checked by me daily.

This would be very useful for me as well. We own two businesses that receive emails when equipment malfunctions. The emails come to my email since I am the owner, and I have to individually send them to my employees. I would like to have the option to automatically forward certain emails that pertain to certain businesses. Is this something Yahoo can provide?

Yeah..... Just found out that this does not exist.
This exists in Gmail and outlook.
Seems like a basic function. -

This is the same reason I'm looking for another email program. I am unable to forward. What a drag.I hate changing my email address.

I hate this more every day. Now I can't forward attachments, something I frequently have to do for my work. I'm switching back. Who are the idiots who think they're improving things. There used to be an option to forward attachments in settings - gone. I'm about ready to switch to another carrier.

I agree with this. I'm surprised that Yahoo doesn't have this basic feature had by practically all other email systems. We should be able to set a rule to forward certain emails according to desired rules.
This is yet another reason to use other email services.

Agree..This feature should be available. Upon an incoming mail, along with filter a forwarding rule should be enabled, so that we can forward certain emails to other people.

I do agree with Catalin's note about being able to forward emails through the filtering process. For personal use, this feature doesn't have quite as much value to me but I use many email accounts for business related purposes and what I find now with all the spam filtering going on just trying to have certain emails routed correctly on the mail servers can be challenging. One of the ways to work around some of the spam filtering for emails that need to come through has to do with the use of the filtering. For example, we have many sites on shared servers like Godaddy. These shared servers do not allow us to have complete control over the mail routing obviously because we do not control the mail servers. So if a mail server is not routing emails correctly, we will often create a gmail or a yahoo mail account and use the filtering to reroute the incoming email. I know this is a long comment but I think email forwards as a part of filtering is a critical feature Yahoo mail should have. Thank you for reading.
