Implement a Spam "Block" function to reduce repeated Spam
I've been a Yahoo-er for so many years, and I'm having to change my email addresses on all my subscriptions to Hotmail, purely because of the ridiculous amount of Spam I'm getting.
I've got my Spam filter settings on so high that everything pours into my Spam folder, but I have to empty it out several times a day so I don't miss anything that I actually need to action!!
Hotmail offers the option to "Block" any email addresses that come into my Junk Mail by selecting (usually up to about 100 at a time!!) and clicking "Block". It's that simple!! It eventually reduces the volume of Spam I receive because I can do so many at a time and I therefore don't get repeated messages. While there are some it can't block (clever spammers who use Microsoft to send), you can mark as phishing and it doesn't come back.
With Yahoo, the solution is so long-winded. You have to copy the email address, go to Blocked Addresses in Settings, paste the email address, save and then go back again. If I'm getting hundreds of emails a day of Spam, this is impossible to manage.
I've read hundreds of blogs about Yahoo-ers complaining about the volume of Spam, even in our Spam boxes, and the solution is really not user-friendly.
Sadly, I may end up having Hotmail as my main email and put Yahoo to the backburner. Hotmail used to be junk-filled, and they implemented changes based on their customer feedback. C'mon Yahoo - can't you do the same?
