Option for adding new contacts
Yahoo should provide an option that enables you to tap on the email address of someone sending email, and adding this person to your contact list straight away. At the moment, I have to copy and paste (or write down) the email of the person sending an email, and then going into Contacts and manually add the person.

Hi Anon... yes, I noticed that they reintroduced this badly needed feature recently. Finally! Now if they can stop Safari from freezing when I try to add a link to some text we'll really be cruising. ;-)

This works in my Yahoo Mail Pro: with the email open, look at the options just above the mail, and click on the "More" button (to the right of the Spam button.) There is an "Add Sender to Contacts" option there.

This is exactly my beef. It is ridiculous, that in this day and age, I should have to MANUALLY enter the contact information, to add someone to my contact list. I've spent 44 years in IT and worked for 5 different companies and used several mail services, not to mention my experiences with AT&T mail as it has morphed over the years, and I have never experienced a service that did not somehow allow you click on a sender and quickly add them to your contact list. It appears, based on this thread, that this situation has been going on for well over a year. Is this ever going to be addressed???

I'm not alone then? I spent ages searching everywhere and trying everything to add addresses direct from an incoming mail, I simply couldn't believe that Yahoo Mail doesn't actually allow this simple action and thought I was at fault and being stupid for not being able to find how to do such a simple task. Dreadful, simply dreadful.

Put back the option to add a contact when reading an email without having to copy and paste or retype the name.

cannot figure out how to add a new contact from an email...used to be a simple hover to highlight the email address in the email itself and then a click to add to contacts. Now a hover of an email addres is just highlights with no options. Should be returned to old classic email format.

I can't believe how difficult it is to add contacts!!! I much before Gmail, it is so much more user friendly. Is Yahoo going to fix this?

TERRIBLE email application! I can't believe how difficult it is to add a contact of someone that emailed me! Your email app is horrible! Classic email is a thousand times better...and gmail is beyond superior to yahoo mail. No wonder I know so few people that use yahoo email on their computers!

This absolutely needs to be a priority for me to continue to use my yahoo email account!!! This should be as easy as one click, and it currently isn't in the firefox browser.

I agree with the folks here. A simple "add contact" button is essential. You had the feature in the previous version of Mail. Just have your programmers put it back pretty please. Also, in future, how about asking your subscribers what features we want or don't want rather than ramming low quality "upgrades" down our throats whether we want it or not. Thanks.

I agree with this one. This was great in the previous verison/
Click on the email and add. And I don't like Auto contacts so I want to turn that off. -

Hello Everybody!!! THis is exactly what I came here to complain about, I see a bunch of other people have this problem too! Haven't they fixed this? It's so frustrating that when I need to go write a fresh e-mail to someone whom I have already exchanged e-mails with, there is no way for me to find or select their e-mail address without leaving the page and finding it and copying it from somewhere else!!!! CAN YAHOO FIX THIS pls?

This is a very necessary addition needed! It's ridiculous that I have to write down contacts from received emails and then add them in the contacts on a completely different page. Please fix this!!

Agree with all these comments. In the new interface it appears that it "remembers" a new email address you have received from - when you go to write a new email to the sender when you start typing their name it pops up in the drop down as a potential recipient. BUT it does not enter it in your contacts. YAHOO PLEASE PUT BACK THE "ADD TO CONTACTS" FUNCTION....

I just realize that directly adding new contacts function is so popular and so much wonted from users for so so long time. Are responsible in yahoomail blind or deaf?

Nikolaos commented
That was a beautiful function please bring it back.
