I think it just New templates additional animation jquery ajax html5 but the old yahoo email are still in there but you didn't see i think, you should adapt for your own security, new user interface can gain more knowledge i think(for me). this is how the world turn around.
for performance i like it is very fast.
email handling is quite easy just hover or simple put the mouse pointer in to the messages and you got the popover buttons for so easy to used.
