filters
Adding a filter remains inconvenient, as if designed in, like, 1993.? For example, if you want to add a filter, you might - naturally - want to create a new folder for your new filter. But did you think to do this before you went to create a filter? Most people wouldn't. Hint: WORKFLOW. As it is, you have to completely exit out of the filter thing, go back and add a folder, and then go back in and start adding a filter from scratch. There are much better ways to design this.

I believe you can add a new folder just by typing it (option on right) when designating a folder for the filter to deliver emails to.

I really really miss filters from the last version of mail - I had close to 100 (if not more) filters and ALL of them stopped working when I switched to new mail (yes this was months ago) (yet they are still listed in my filters list). Any new ones that I try to create do not work, and now I am getting 50+ emails a day in my inbox that I used to filter automatically and look at if I needed to. I am almost ready to switch mail providers (even though I have been with Yahoo for 20+ years now) as this is a major inconvenience. Please bring back right-click filters (SO easy and super efficient!)

Creating a new filter in Yahoo mail is like climbing the Mt. Everest.
Could you guys please take look at Microsoft Outlook Mail Box Filtering, it's so smooth and just a click away to create the filter for any mail. -

Please, if possible keep the filter options menu AVAILABLE in an any / every open email. No need to go to settings - more option - filter.
currently, we don't feel it is a userfriendly way of the operating filter email option.
If possible please keep it simple, filter email option available in open email and once you click on the option of 'filter this email', it will open the small dialog box over the open email window, in which the data like 'From and To' email addresses will automatically filled up, no need to retype or copy paste. -

Completely getting agree with the idea.
And definitely in the previous version, it was much easy to use the filter option as many data were been taken automatically and filled up in the space.
Here, now its a completely a manual process, even have to copy the 'from' or sender email address and paste it into filter option manually everything, you can't go back. -

I was just forced into the upgrade, after a year of not clicking the "YES upgrade me" button. The main reason I didn't want to upgrade is there is no easy way to create filters. You used to be able to right click on the email and create a filter for it. Now I am opening two separate tabs and creating filters in one tab while looking at the specific email in another tab. Since right clicking emails is no longer possible, make it a drop down option, from the 3 dot menu extension next to the Spam button, after you select the specific email.

DITTO to VJ anderson's comment re the exact reason i resisted upgrade. filters are not working. seriously considering moving to gmail

The inconvenience of the new mail format and creating filters is why I never upgraded my email until I had to.
I get entirely too much mail and want it to be sorted to my specifications.
Will be checking into gmail for better more convenient sorting and see which is better. It may be easier to have a new email than jump through yahoo's hoops to apply a filter. -

I wish I could vote this all the way up to number one! I'm so disappointed that actual software engineers wouldn't have changed this by now. Filters and the fact there is no number by the spam filter. Come on guys, you are my first love, don't make me break up with you!

THIS IS A MESS! It used to be so easy to add a filter from the email and not having to basically manually do it now. It's so sad that Yahoo gets worse with updates instead of better.

I can't believe this is still missing from main menu bar. Please bring it back so it's as simple to use as it used to be.
