mailbox deleted, no backups? are we living in 1970's? privacy really?
one email got letter: We noticed that you haven't logged in to your mailbox ***_*@yahoo.com in more than 12 months.
If you would like to continue receiving email in this account, please visit mail.yahoo.com and log in within the next 5 days.
If you do not log back in, this account will stop receiving email messages and the contents of your mailbox, including all email messages, settings, and folders will be permanently deleted.
that email was sent on Feb 20th 2019, today is April 25th 2019. That mailbox still has all the emails, yet my other email has been deleted.
Logging in today, it setup that mailbox as a new one. chatting with support was pointless because only after i copied the email about closing account did that person realize my account is closed.
Asking for supervisor or maybe if i can get important stuff downloaded at least from a backup was unsuccessful and apparently in 2019 yahoo doesn't do backups at all.
And if admin replies to private message on twitter @yahoo care well i cant do that because i dont have a twitter account.
also forcing people to add their personal/private data to any and all mailboxes such as forcing people to add a recovery phone number when logging in...
yea doesn't leave a nice experience. No other email provider requires phone number to "kinda" secure a mailbox. like why do i need to get text messages of all
the things or changes i do on my mailbox? do i want that? and why so eager to get phone number? hmm
oh and 3rd please figure out a way to properly close a chat session. clicking the X closes the popup and even after a page refresh the session is still active. which is good if page is accidentally closed but have an end chat button to close the connection/session.
