Contacts hard to find, edit, alter, and delete
Since the new changes it has become much more difficult to search and edit or delete a single contact. It would be very helpful if a dropdown menu were available to search by several choices such as ending email address or last name or company. partial name, with the ability to select the item and go to edit.

Initially Yahoo decides without my consent to remove my personal email from my business account. As a result all email contacts (5000+) were left in my personal email account "Contacts" by "List" compiled for 18+ years- no way to print or download "Contacts" by "Lists" which is devastating to me!!!! They refuse to remedy the situation - is an attorney or programmer on board???
Users need to be able to sort on the various contact fields, i.e. last name, first name, city, state, zip. I noted there was a suggestion in July 2019 for a sort by last name. While I realize your team is working hard to improve yahoo mail, I wonder if the leadership has your team members running in circles and putting out fires. I strongly recommend you establish release cycles and communicate with your users on planned improvements and release dates.
ou had a feature where when you added a new contact you could just click on a drop-down list and choose the list you wanted to add them to
Robert, I agree with what you are saying, and I am the original ("Anonymous") poster / commentor of this thread. But since you said "... when YOU ..." (make a change), etc., you should know you are NOT complaining to YAHOO. Unfortunately, this is merely a BLOG for USERS to share ideas. As you will see, YAHOO NEVER answers any of us. Only other Users do. Yahoo makes it extremely difficult to contact them directly, ask questions, give feedback, or to complain,.
I agree with the many critiques about Yahoo Contacts.
The old version worked fine:
First, it was listed alphabetically by LAST NAME. I have many friends named Steve. If I am looking for Steve Norwood it would be faster to look for it under Norwood than to go through a group of Steves!.
Furthermore, instead of the entire list of contacts under each letter of the alphabet, the way it had been, I am now forced to "drop down" to open up for more names.
WHEN YOU MAKE A MISTAKE IN AN UPDATE, PLEASE GO BACK AND CORRECT IT.
The old system was easy to access (There was a heading called "Contacts") and was easy to use.
IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT!!
1. Yahoo used to have a "fix duplicates" option that, while it wasn't perfect, it did actually work. It was a beta program and now I can't find it...using the updated "Basic Mail" or the newest version. Can you please bring that back? Switching phones over the years has created duplicate contacts (sometimes even FOUR!!)
2. This feedback forum is asking me to sign into Yahoo, when I'm already signed in.
3. When clicking on a single contact, I now have to choose Edit/Delete (where before I could do either when just opening the Contact), and the Edit function doesn't also have the option to delete, which is an unnecessary step.
Because of all of the duplication, I now have almost 2,400 contacts so this extra step is extreeemely frustrating, inefficient and time consuming.

Currently contacts and their emails can not be transferred from "ALL" to a specific "LIST" of choice. without cumbersome process, often the existing contact can not be retyped in specific list. ONE should be able to automatically to organize contacts in certain lists/categories to make the email experience efficient. ****************@yahoo.com

why can I only view contacts on the right side of my emails. The other two icons turn into tabs, why not contacts ? why are my contacts no longer in alpha order ? why can't I print my contacts book (other than in excel format), why can't I view each contact they way I used to ? why has contacts been ruined even when I revert back to basic version ?
Please add back in to print via Mail Labels as well. Export to a CSV is worthless to me.

Do NOT UNDERSTAND WHY YOU HAD TO CHANGE THE CONTACT LIST IN THE NEWEST VERSION WHEN THEY WEREN'T BROKEN SO would like to see the Contact list show: 1) ALL records in stead of this having to click on "See More"; 2) Be able to have them in Alpha order by First name; 3) Appear on page of by them self instead of this listing them off to the right of the inbox; 4) then -- like the old basic version will show name, email address, and description of contact name i.e friend, family, business associate, etc. I invite you to contact me in person so I can better explain.

Adding a person to a list is very difficult as there is no explanation of how to this. The old version was far better

When I click on contacts (right hand side of screen) it only allows me to look at existing contacts, it will not let me add a new one!!! So come on, how the heck do I do that?

Please tell me why my Contact lists are diminishing every time I restart my entrance to yahoo.mail.
for example: I have a list of 30 people. I want to invite them for my birthday party and went i pick the cell : all (from the specified list) only the 30% is picked. When i examine the names 60% are gone. What can I do to solve this problem?

Currently, I am having to delete a person who died from one of my mailing lists every time I send an email. I also mis-spelt someone's name and although I have corrected that, it still comes up with the wrong spelling when you hover over their name. This is frustrating to me and potentially upsetting to others

The TO: Button is useless now as it only pulls up partial lists. The Lists are all screwed up there as well as under the contact icon with missing entries, etc. and there is no way to get help NO forum, no Chat, no way to speak or send email at all. They want you to pay monthly for support!!!! If it were a good product I would think of a one shot subscription to fix the issues but I think they created the problems with new mail just to get us to pay. No Thank-you. I have no confidence in Yahoo Mail anymore. Yahoo is now a cumbersome obsolete mail product. Too bad they were so good with classic.....

First of all, why should I have to pay a subscription for support for a problem that is obviously a programming flaw of your own making? Do you do this intentionally?
So here's the issue. I have organized my contacts into lists. Occasionally those contacts need to be deleted or edited. When I make those changes, they are not reflected in the mailing list. This means I am sending out pointless messages to obsolete e-dresses.
I should mention that I have been a Yahoo user for about 30 years and generally consider your service superior to Outlook or any other email server. Your calendar is also superior to anything else because it allows me schedule reminders a week and a day ahead of the event.
Up to now, I have been a proud and loyal user.
For, for God's sake, every time you "improve" or "upgrade" your service, it sends me into a frustrating cycle to compensate for your programming flaws.
Why can't you just leave it alone?
Sign in with a provider? WTF? You are my provider. What kind of passive-aggressive harassment is this?
I must agree that contacts is getting worse and worse. It is less functional and less utilitarian with every update you guys do.
Give Contact its own full page like it used to be years ago.
It is so bad that I think the Contacts page unit is intentionally trying to make us switch to MSN or Google.
All the other comments that are said below that mention how bad Contacts section is I agree with and then some.
Stop screwing up it up and force me to switch to Google or MSN!
