ABC order by last name for contacts
I should have waited until I tried what you suggested. I did go back to Basic Mail, sorted the names by Last Name. However, in the list the first name shows up first. The last name should show up, not the first. I'm trying to coordinate 2 e-mail accounts to have the same addresses, this is making it very hard. PLEASE change it back to the way it was originally - Last name, first name.
Thanks,
Deanna Ralph

Thank you for your response. I don't know why there isn't an option to sort by last name - that's crazy. If you have an actual paper file folder you put a label on it, Last name, then first name. If you were looking for a name and it was filed under the first name and that name was James, you would have to look through hundreds of folders to find the right one with the last name of - Schollmann.

Hi Deanna,
Thank you for contacting Yahoo Support. This is Noah from Buffalo. I understand you have a question about your contacts order and I would be happy to help you with that today.
Unfortunately, contacts are now ordered by first name in the newest version of Yahoo Mail with the first four appearing the most common contacts that you message that the ones showing under more appearing in alphabetical order.
If you would like to sort your contacts by last name, you will need to access basic Mail.
Click Settings.
Click More Settings.
Click Switch to basic Mail.
Select contacts and select "Last name" for your sorting option.
