Yahoo Generated Passwords are a bad idea
Someone explain to me how Yahoo's generated password ( required if you want to continue using Outlook as the client ) is more secure than the password I change every sixty days ?
Example of my passwords: +8pT6AxXza4^/_Pj~~rQ
Example of the Yahoo password: zbmwridlnmqrywof
1) The generated password is all lower case alpha chars. No numbers or symbols or upper case which makes cracking it that much easier. ( (26)^16 vs (74)^20) ) *74 using a limited set of symbols, numbers, lower and upper case letters
2) It was generated by Yahoo using an unknown algorithm. Can it be re-generated on demand ?
This goes against everything I know about creating and using a secure
password. I'll use my accounts with their required generated passwords long enough to change my email addresses to something other than Yahoo.
This makes zero sense to me.
