Yahoo deleting authentic emails as Spam - not sending to my Spam Folder for me to assess!
For the last 8 weeks I am missing valuable emails from 2 companies.
I called Yahoo US support desk (from Europe) on 11th September 2021, and was told Yahoo had automatically deleted these mails presuming they were spam!... And this is the reason I don't receive them!
The first email address that Yahoo deleted, I have been receiving their emails since NOVEMBER 2020, and Yahoo blocked these since July 2021.
The second email address that Yahoo deleted (and vitally important!), I have been receiving their emails since 1st MARCH 2021, and Yahoo blocked these since the evening of 6th September 2021… and… they are from a very well-known international company!
If both were spam, I would have taken the appropriate action myself months ago!
Like other mails, why did Yahoo not direct them to my spam folder (instead of deleting at source), so I could be the judge of their authenticity?
The result of your actions has cost me so much time and inconvenience which is still ongoing (I cannot go into detail here), and after years of being a loyal Yahoo customer, for the very first time, I am concerned about the reliability of receiving all my messages… which has unwanted knock-on effect implications!
I was informed by your telephone helpdesk that Yahoo could not reverse their aforementioned deletions at source…
RECOMMENDATION:
1. In the event Yahoo makes future errors by blocking authentic emails to their clients, PLEASE introduce a reverse delete option, as deleting important mails has so many time consuming (including costly) repercussions!
2. Better still, as before, send suspect mails to spam folders for your clients to decide, or send an email enquiry before deleting at source.
3. This does not include any well-known spam emails with e.g., dangerous attachments.
