1. How to view Contacts

   Click on Settings, then click on More Settings. On the left side of the page scroll down until you find Classic Mail, Click on this and you will be returned to the Classic Mail version with a Contacts button as it always used to be.

   Suggest that New Mail is further improved from its version available 1August 2019 by: increasing the number of keystrokes required to check on the contents from 3 to 7 or any other undefined number. Till the latest version I only required 2 keystrokes. Now I need to search for "more info" with a 3rd keystroke. Heaven forbid that I should want to use the same surname again, well that requires a further 10 keystrokes to re-enter the searched name, typically 10 characters long, so the latest version increases the number of keystrokes from 2 to 13!
   Also, it appears that the "new contact" form only functions if the e-mail is known at the time of starting a "new contact".
   It is becoming clear that YAHOO has poorly managed system review processes. If you can't get something as basic as 1) establishing the parameters of a change - why, what, how etc 2) develop internal acceptance criteria for your own changes carried out internally ie tested internally before being foisted onto users then,

   3) What confidence do I have in expecting you to have foolproof systems in place that keep my data protected?

3. contacts

   Contacts DO NOT POPULATE the "TO" line when you type the recipients name. The contact folder cannot be found in the new Yahoo Email design. When you click on the Contacts folder on the upper right it takes you completely back to the "Old" format. Clicking on the "TO" on the recipient line does NOT access the address book. What good is a new format for email that does NOT include my contacts. Basically the new format is incomplete and it SUCKS. I don't plan to use it anymore especially since several users have completely lost all of their contacts. To suggest that the user needs to trouble shoot their browser because the new Yahoo mail format is defective is ludicrous.

4. My old contact list

   Sometime between last night and this morning (07/24 to 07/25/2019) Verizon Media took it upon itself to "UPGRADE" one of my Yahoo email accounts. In the process they have totally loss most of and corrupted what is left of my CONTACT list. It is my online Rolodex for a certain part of my life with account numbers, logins, passwords, etc. This Yahoo account is many years old. I have two (2) other accounts, one a paid mail pro account. I did not ask for an upgrade. Now Verizon Media wants to charge me to "help me" restore my Contact list. The alternative is to switch to a basic account, still with a none functioning contact list, and minimal overall function. I have a feeling that I am not alone in this situation and that Verizon Media D.N.G.A.G.S. Why would someone charge you to correct an error or mistake that they made?

   Verizon Media is a direct descendant of Ma Bell. Remember her? It looks like disrespecting the public is a hereditary trait of this corporate family along with stealing from consumers. The attitude is that its customers are powerless to do anything to stand up against such a family, so the big V can do whatever it wants to.. Over the years Verizon has taken this message to heart. Thieving is a family trait and a well-practiced one at that. Does anyone remember VoiceWing (a supposed Verizon V.O.I.P. service)? The only thing the consumer ended up with was a useless metal box. Not even a credit or refund offer. Well, Verizon stole technology from its communications competitor, Vonage, and we paid the price. "Thieving is a family trait and a well-practiced one at that."

   About 1.5 months ago myself and other paid subscribers to Yahoo mail pro found ourselves with useless contact lists. These lists were our lifelines. One poor woman lost all the contact information for her various doctors as she had a list of specialists to see for her physical condition.
   
   I lost all my professional contact and important personal contact info. No one responded from Verizon for weeks. I never thought in the past that it was necessary for me to memorize all the information to the various city, state and federal offices that I deal with for my profession. Nor did I feel that I needed to memorize my frequent flyer account numbers, nor my automobile VIN number, nor certain other critical but not often used pieces of information. That was the purpose of a contact list that I had for many years in a paid Yahoo email account. I wonder if the C.E.O. of Verizon Media has the policy numbers of all his life insurance policies memorized?

   Well today I need to send flowers to a sick friend and to track an order from a department store that I use infrequently. It looks like I have to create a new online account with the florist. I will also have to wait on hold, for my turn, with the department store customer service. Also I like a special brand clog. Nothing comes up in my contact list to help me identify where I bought a pair three (3) years ago. Nice! Eh! Yahoo encourages multiple account ownership. This is mine for shopping and hobbies.

   For years, I've had my contacts sorted alphabetically by LAST name. For some reason, you've changed them and now they are sorted alphabetically by FIRST name. I much prefer alpha by LAST name, and I'd like for you to correct the situation. We can put a man on the moon, and you're capable of hacking into my computer and having your way with it. So, I'm confident you're able to accommodate my request. I'm not sure why you feel compelled to fix something that isn't broke. Although some have the mindset that if something isn't broke, lets fix it until it is.

7. REMOVE NAME TAGS!!! When I send an email, the email address & name of persons I am sending email(s) to are NOT listed on email.

   When I SEND an email, neither the email address nor the name of the person that I am sending the email to is shown. Instead the ICON NAME/NAME TAG is shown (for example, instead of "**********@email.com" being shown on the email, the ICON NAME "BROTHER" is being shown). I want the EMAIL ADDRESS AND/OR the NAME of the person listed that I am sending the email to.

8. What did you do to Yahoo Contacts? It is Horrible now. Glad I have Gmail Contacts as back-up.

9. Contact maintenance. New version is totally inefficient. I'm quitting.

10. when addressing emails contact list displays only 2 or 3 contacts while old version displayed 5 or 6. Can't expand window to display more.

    Previous version displayed 5-6 contacts at a time to choose from while addressing emails. This displays only 2-3 at a time. Unable to expand window to display more. Very slow, time consuming, cumbersome and frustrating!

11. Create groups from outgoing email

    It would be extremely helpful and efficient to be able to create a group of contacts directly from an outgoing email, without necessarily needing to add the individual contacts to my contact list

12. Your response did not resolve my issue with editing contacts

    Thank you for your response, Tech Department, but it did NOT resolve anything as there are NO 3 dots available when you click on the contact that I need to edit. The only time the 3 dots are available is when you're actually on your contacts LIST, not on the individual contact. OBVIOUSLY, you all do NOT use your own email system, otherwise you would understand that your "solution" is irrelevant. PLEASE, hire people who understand the mechanics of the program and how to properly address this situation that has frustrated your entire community. While I personally use GMAIL for my personal emails, this YAHOO email is for business....a business I have had for over 20 years... and have used this email for these 20+ years. This is ridiculous. I cannot believe how disconnected Yahoo has become from their customers and service. Can anyone hear me???? Bueller.... Bueller.... Bueller....

    In order to edit a contact, click on the Contacts option on the right side of the email screen and, once the list appears, select a contact then click on the 3 dots that appear next to Details (under the Settings option) and select Edit from the drop-down menu.

13. When in a mailing list and one contact has two contact addresses, I have to copy and paste 2nd email to add to email.

    You should be able to click on both addresses to add to the "To" line when composing an email.

14. What happened to my Yahoo Mail contacts?

    I went to send an email to someone, and typed the first letter of their name. In the past,this has always linked to their full address, as listed in my contacts. This time, it didn't. I tried several people, and it failed in each case. WHAT HAPPENED TO MY YAHOO CONTACTS? Now I've got to type in each person's e-mail address completely? Sometimes I send the same message to a dozen people! WHY ARE THE LISTED CONTACTS NOT COMPLETING THE E-MAIL ADDRESSES ANY MORE?!?!?!?

15. Contacts

    Your contacts are terrible on the new Yahoo. Sometimes on my Mac desk top I can edit one. . Other times no. Sometime notes will come up in a contact, sometimes no. I have to edit my contacts on my iPhone. Please advise me how to handle this. I am very close to leaving Yahoo and going to GMail. Thank you

18. Remove top contacts from search bar

    I would love it if I could clear out my top contacts from the search bar within Mail. The ones listed are not even in my contact list.

20. allow sender to be added to contacts easily.

    The old email allowed one to get that sender onto contact list. This new one needs that feature.
