    Customer Data Breach:

    I received the following email on September 19th. I like Yahoo and have used your service for some time. Is this legit or a scam? I do not want to be a part of a frivolous lawsuit nor do I want to provide the information they are requesting which could be a scam itself. However, I am worried about credit monitoring should this have occurred. Could you please answer via my email address. Thank you.

    If you had a Yahoo account anytime in 2012 through 2016,

    ARE THESE REAL? They are claiming that they are from Yahoo's security. Here's the phone nos: 1**************** (1x) and 1****************** (3x). I blocked both numbers. And in addition, I received at work an email. Subject: Yahoo Security Breach Proposed Settlement.

    Hello there. If you’re also using a third party email app to access your Yahoo account, please check your settings to make sure changes made on all devices do sync.

  4. I'm getting advertising by my Inbox that is a link to a scam. I don't see how I can turn this in to Yahoo as an alert.

    I noticed I was getting a scam advertisement on webpages. Now I see the same scam is showing up in the advertising boxes to the right of my Inbox. I cannot find a way of alerting this problem to Yahoo. There should be an easy link button so scams like this can be turned in to your staff.

  5. generating php files

    The Yahoo! mail app (Mac, Firefox) is generating dozens of files named as.php. Currently, they're going to my downloads folder. Seem to be generated by the ads in the right column. The files register as zero bytes in size, but are a nuisance nonetheless. I sent them all to the trash ten minutes ago, and there already are 42 more.
    What's up with that?

    It seems like the issue you are experiencing might be a browser-related issue. Indeed those files are generated by ads, but usually, they are not supposed to be downloaded in your downloads folder.
    You could try some quick browser troubleshooting steps:
    -clear cache and cookies https://help.yahoo.com/kb/sln27197.html and https://help.yahoo.com/kb/sln27196.html
    -reset firefox https://help.yahoo.com/kb/sln24149.html

    If the issue still persists after that, please try using a different browser(e.g. Safari)

  6. Reporting an email that violates Yahoo's terms of service

    Hello. I was told by a customer service rep today to post information about a Yahoo account whose operator is violating Yahoo's terms of service. The account is *******@yahoo.com, which is operated by one "Brother Nathanael," aka Milton Kapner, who operates a virulently anti-Semitic, homophobic and misogynistic hate speech website called Real Jew News (realjewnews.com). On this website, Kapner requests donations via his bronathanael@yahoo.com email address while denigrating Jews--including through what he advertises as a "final solution" that would entail the deportation of Jews and the removal of Jews' rights and freedoms.   9. REPORT PHISHING

    WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO REPORT PHISHING. There should be a way to report phishing from the inbox and spam the same way outlook does. Since there is no way to do it in yahoo I will assume you support phishing.

  10. Yahoo GUILTY of Breaking the law on personal privacy

    Yahoo is querying my computer to see what other software I am running and directing me to modify it if it has an affect on their downloads. Where do they get off looking what I am running on my own machine? Where, if any, did I give them the permission to in affect search my computer? This is a egregious invasion of privacy not covered by any terms and conditions that I know exit. They are breaking the law!

  11. mail from google maps blocked

    I am trying to send from google maps to my yahoo email account a map from google maps. It works using send me a text to my phone. At least this time I get a bounce back message "554 5.7.9 Message not accepted for policy reasons."

    I have been NOT getting messages from a specific mailing list (******************) . I tried it with a gmail account and it gets through which is not an ideal fix. I have a mailpro account. I am only posting here for lack of finding a valid way to contact support. Thank you for any helpful ideas

    Once you open an email click the three dots next to the Spam option on the top of the email and select “View raw message” A new page will open where you should look for the Originating-IP line.

  14. thumbnails not visible

    Hi, there. For about 2 years now I have not been able to see picture thumbnails in my yahoo emails. This applies to both the PC and the android Yahoo app. They do not show whether I use wifi or 4G data. Cleaning the browser cache solves the issue for a brief period of time, but it is a nuisance to clean that cache and have to retype and save all your usernames and passwords for various websites and accounts.     WTF !!! - Why force users to change their password?? Especially when there is NO cause for alarm!!! Gmail is SO SO SO much more user friendly!!! Positive note, the only reason why i keep this account around is for "SPAM" ... it's my junk account... One might want to ask.. why does a customer use our email platform just for his junk email account? maybe because it ****!!!! and Yahoo does stupid * like Forced Password Changes? maybe....

  17. Resubmitting - how to delete a phone number in my email

    My last post was merged without my permission with an idea that I SPECIFICALLY said did not work - and the comments are locked in that thread! Useless!

    Reposting my problem:
    There is a phone number tied to my email - and it isn't even mine (nor would I have ever posted my number online). How do I change or remove this?
    There are several other people asking the same question, but most have no replies, and the one admin gives a link to 'disable my signature' in writing email - my signature has always been disabled. So that 'resolution'…

    In order to delete a recovery method, you will have to replace it with a new phone number or alternative email address. You can go to mail.yahoo.com and sign in. After that, in the top right corner click on your name and on “Account Info”. Go to “Account Security” and sign in again. After that, click on phone numbers and you will be able to add another phone number and remove the other one.

  20. I would like a simple email address where i can complain about the way you treat me not having to log in to some forum

    I have just had to give you an alternative email address for security purposes when you already have my phone number, this is completely unnecessary and i want to tell you so but there is no email or web form to fill in a complaint, i have to log in to some help forum that doesn't help. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO GIVE YOU A SECOND EMAIL ADDRESS ITS TOO NOSY ON YOUR PART, KINDLY STOP THIS NOW.

    It’s a good thing to have an alternate email address on the account should something happen to your phone. If you change your number or if you lose your phone you will still be able to sign in to your account using the alternate email address.
