I spent years working up to diamond, and I drop 329 points in one week because I finished second in the regular season? How is that fair?
I had an undefeated season until the last two weeks. How is it a fair rating system to lose almost half my total points in one week?

The answer to that is probably because the folks at Yahoo don't know what they're doing. I was Diamond too - barely, but Diamond at like 915 or so just a few short years ago - but then suddenly Yahoo started taking away lots of points. They subtracted 10 points here, 9 pts there for every H2H loss I've had these past three years... and have only added to my tab 1 or 2 points for every H2H win, regardless of opponent. The max I get now for a win is maybe like 4 or 5 silly points if the score is quite large, like 11-1. This seems to be the case even when I beat other top contenders by a wide margin. But when I look to see how any points other teams in my league (some of whom are sub-platinum rating) get when they win a H2H match, I see them getting 10 to 12 points for each H2H match win. Unvelievable! And when they lose a match (even by a wide margin) they only lose 1-5 points. It's crazy. Not fair at all. I have continued to win during these past three years as I used to when I used to play in lots of leagues, but my rating has been steadily dropping to the 840-something range or so. This year.. at the conclusion of this week, I will be in either 1st or 2nd place in my league... but currently I've only been able to bring my rating up 10 points to 857. This week I'm winning 9-2 so far going on Sunday against another top contender. We'll see how many points Yahoo will add to my rating and how many the other guy will lose. I will post it here just for a good laugh. Btw, the one match that I've lost this year (in week 2) cost me 12 points. This only because, once again, Yahoo seems to be punishing my losses more severely than they are rewarding my H2H wins. This is all so stupid. So I've come to the conclusion that Yahoo's rating system is completely flawed, and therefore, not worth paying too much attention to. I will happily proceed to win another championship this year, or earning another 2nd place finish to the bunch that I already have, with or without a fair rating from Yahoo. Their rating no longer means anything to me.
I was thinking though, maybe the fact that, over the past few years, I've chosen to only play in the one private H2H league (a cash keeper prize league I've commished since 2012) has something to do with Yahoo's unfair rating system (where they remove lots of points for losses than they add for wins). After all, they do have in their rating a "rule" stating that you need to play in "multiple leagues" to get a higher rating. But hey, some of us are do work for a living! I'm a busy man. I must spare some time for work and to run my personal business and investments too. Not like fantasy sports should be the only thing we do in life, Yahoo!! And lot like playing darn online games is all we're in the world for. There's a freaking planet to run here! Lmao
