Enable the "Generate an app password" feature in Yahoo or get rid of it so I can access my Yahoo email via Outlook.
Get rid of the need to generate an app password to use Outlook to access my Yahoo mail account - using my (secure) Yahoo login credentials should be secure enough! Also, the "Generate an app password" feature is currently NOT WORKING which is so frustrating!

I cannot generate an App Password!
Every time I click "Generate Password", I get a message "Something went wrong.Try again". Multiple attempts, different (simple) app names, no other indication of problem. Not great. Tried to find a way to report this, get directed to generic FAQs or paid support. Nasty.

Cannot use outlook app password cannot be revoked.
There is no way to revoke an app password. and to generate on comes back as error. Unable to use outlook now.

App Password Generator needs to work
You have a wonderful email service. It would be better if people could access it through email clients. It would make it more convenient to use and more available - possibly generating more revenue for you.
To do so, the app password generator needs to function. Apple and Gmail both make theirs available, I am surprised that yours does not.1472nd ranked -

The "Generate an app password" dialog box is not working.
There is no pull down menu for the app name. When I fill the app name in manually I get an error message: Sorry, this feature is not available right now.
It's nice that you have the feature to generate passwords for third party apps, but features that don't work aren't features.51st ranked -

I have been trying to generate an app password for Outlook Desktop but there is no drop down for apps and when I manually enter Outlook Desktop I get the message:
Sorry, this feature is not available at present.
This is fine but I have been trying now for 6 days and still no joy.

find alternative to app password option
I have had my yahoo account since I think 2009...I have always used it in combination with Outlook Desktop. My Laptop cashed and I am now on day 3 of trying to connect outlook to my yahoo mail account. The app password concept does NOT work. You need to simplify this or offer an alternative option on how to connect outlook to yahoo.
