For Yahoo Backgammon it would make more sense for there to be computers at various levels. Right now I am at rank 1791 and with the only computer at rank 1617 it is unreasonable for me to play the computer as I stand to gain only a few points but risk losing around 20 if I play the computer. Often there are no human opponents at near my rank so either they (if they are far above my rank) refuse to play me or (if they are far below my rank) I refuse to play them as there is very little for me to gain and a lot to lose when I play them. In the end I end up not
playing backgammon because there are no reasonable opponents for me to play.
