No more talent squatting in small leagues. However many points a player on your bench generates (I.e., the players you actively decided NOT to start that week) gets deducted from your starting players’ total. So if my starters end up generating 140 points, but the players on my bench generate 80 points, my score for that week gets netted out to 60. This forces managers to make an active choice about stashing a player, creates liquidity on the wires / free agency, and means that the manager who creates the leanest but most talented team wins the league ultimately. It’s the most true measure of correctly evaluating talent - I call it “manager alpha”.
