    Until recently there was a good contrast between unread mail items and read mail items. The unread ones had a lighter background, while the read ones had a darker one. Right now everything is using the lighter background, the only difference between the read and unread items being that the unread ones have a slightly bolder font, but not nearly enough to stand out.

    I understand that you want to keep the color scheme as minimalistic as possible, but I see the above as a big setback from the previous UI iteration, and potentially even an accessibility issue affecting the visually impaired users.
