AND NOW, after fighting back and forth to keep my old format they finally took the option away. Up until today I could click and write a note and keep the old mail format but i guess they got tired of reading my polite-yet-sincere explanations of why I don't want the "children's version" of their product. Gmail it is then.
For everyone who commented here I will tell you that I got onto Chat with a Customer Support rep and they made it pretty clear that: 1, they are switching everyone over to the new format regardless of how many times you click to keep the old one and 2, they are quickly taking away any option to revert back to the old format. It has been clear to me over many years that the people who make the decisions at Yahoo have no interest in what their users want and will continue to make changes whether we like them or not.
