I enjoy reading Yahoo News every day as part of my morning routine. I am however, dismayed at what appears to be an increase in daily articles featuring horrible, sensational stories about children being beaten, killed, etc. by family members or others. Yahoo News used to provide a button that allowed readers the ability to indicate to if they want more or less of certain types of articles on the page. This appears to no longer exist. Please reestablish this option for News page readers.

Don't feature comments/turn sound off
I used Yahoo as my main news app for over two years. I recently decided I'll never use it again for two reasons. First, you started featuring comments in each article much more prominently. These are almost impossible to avoid now, and since the vast majority are horribly negative and mean-spirited it really affects my user experience. The final straw, though, was when you started turning on the sound in the videos. I'll be reading an article with the sound off and all of a sudden your video will start blasting noise because you switch the sound back on when…

The problems with the new comment section haven't been fixed, and now you're creating new major problems.
My suggestion is to revert to the last comments format that wasn't a hot mess, the one from about 2014.
I get same behavior in two different browsers. First, for a long time already, if you vote on the first response to a comment, the forum crashes, this is shocking incompetence. Second, having never addressed your shocking incompetence, you doubled down on it. Now, every vote on a response collapses the whole table of responses.

stop auto sound clips triggered by scrolling down the news page
In recent days in March 2017, while scrolling down the News page, loud audio clips start playing. I am using a Dell laptop and Mozilla Firefox. I don't think it happens with IE. They sometimes stop if I scroll up or down, sometimes not. They are news items, not advertisements, but they are extremely annoying.

Hello.
Recently my news feed on the Yahoo homepage has been populating a lot of stories about gruesome familicide stories. I know some people find "grandmother dismembers grandchildren" type stories entertaining but I find them disgusting and disturbing.I never click on this type of content and so I'm completely flummoxed and baffled as to why one in every five stories in my feed seems to be one of these horrendous stories recently.
Doubtless there are users out there who are as sick of seeing stories about the Kardashians as I am about seeing murder stories. So here's my point:

I am so disappointed to see that there are so many fake news sites that come up in the news section. I think Yahoo needs to do a better job
Put links to real news sites, sites with actual journalism. These fake news sites are a cancer in our society and Yahoo needs to stop encouraging it. Please do the responsible thing and STOP putting fake news in your news feed.
