How about actually deleting the comments that get flagged?
There are some horrible comments that just remain. Decent users flag them, but we've known for 5 years that no comments ever get deleted. I'm not saying all flagged comments should be deleted, but if a user gets thousands of their comments flagged isn't that a strong indicator that the user needs to be banned?

how about yahoo remove accounts with abnormally high comments..., like where it's obvious to any reasoning human that one human could not have left 23,000 comments, or 10,000 or maybe 5000 or 3000. It takes time to write a comment, maybe 30 seconds, and a lot more for real / thoughtful comments. Even 3000 comments at 30 seconds per comment would consume over 62 full 24 hour days doing nothing but writing comments, who in the he double toothpicks thinks anyone does that?
