Turn off comments during Covid-19 Crisis to stop the spread of dangerous misinformation
There is a lot of dangerous misinformation being spread through the comments about Covid. Much of it contradicts WHO, Mayo Clinic, USSG's Office, etc. Just shut off the comments, at least under health related news items.

The misinformation is spread by leftists who are afraid of the public finding out the truth.

I don't care about covid. I want the comments section back. Why can't you ban for a while those who speak in poor taste, instead of chickening-out? WE know how to answer the foul people with foul attitudes--but treating us ALL like foul mouthed haters is NOT RIGHT!!!

Each and every person who see this has the ability to check any comment, that is the wonder of the internet, and your personal responsibility, be it the comment or the so called "news"

The most dangerous misinformation is being spread BY THE PRESIDENT HIMSELF. Compaining that commenters sometimes get it wrong, too, is NOT reason enough to silence them!

Look, if you are not intelligent enough to weed through the misinformation and fact check what you read you are NOT intelligent enough to be posting suggestions here.... or anywhere for that matter.

We must push back against Verizon/Yahoo and their push to suppress free speach to all.

I have noticed in the past several days - approximately July 18 - 23 - that there is no longer a "Comments" section at the end of ANY of the news articles on Yahoo! Have comments been "turned off?" Purposely? If so, what is the reason for doing this? Did President Trump issue some sort of "Executive Order" requiring you to do so? Or have you been "hacked?"

Yahoo is run by Democrat cry babys who will silence you because they are wetting their diapers.

News is never supposed to be about Censorship. Write the story anyway and get an expert's opinion if you are concerned about the story. That is what keeps it from spreading through the back web.
If nothing is said about an idea, and it is spread about on the back web, it becomes something "the man doesn't want us to know about!". It is better to tell them about it and discredit the idea than ignore it.

Your Illinois COVID-19 numbers are woefully inaccurate. It says 2 deaths? Try 47. The most accurate source for official info is the IDPH. http://www.dph.illinois.gov/topics-services/diseases-and-conditions/diseases-a-z-list/coronavirus
