I agree. The media has used Covid19 as a political weapon and to further the political party of the DAY. The media shuffles left-right-left throughout this election in order to evoke reactions from political activists and commentary. By ignoring public input it only insults the intelligence of the public and their experience. The only good it has done is forced our so-called leadership to use their own brains and consult with the witless appointees on their A list.

Any coronavirus quotes including the term "exponential growth" of cases, death, hospitalizations, etc. should be fact-checked. No graphs you publish, no data which I review from California, Wisconsin, or the US shows "exponential" growth of anything, simply "linear" growth of all. The once expected prediction of "1 spreads it to 5, those 5 spread it to 25, and those to 125 and so on" has never been seen. That IS "exponential growth" and no graph of cases, death, etc has had anything other than a normal linear scale on the "counts" of any of these.
As a math guy, this erroneous characterization does nothing but fuel the fear of readers/listeners rather than provide the realistic picture. -

with triple the population there was in 1918 we have less than 10% of the deaths. Why not show comparisons of the 2 pandemics?

A sham is a sham is a scam is a scam. The word "update" is a stretch,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,. The word news, presupposes truth or usefulness. Lies are dangerous to all. Promoting lies is good ultimately for noone. Shall I continue???.

COVID-19 is currently the 3rd leading cause of death in the United States. We'll likely see over 400k deaths by year's end. There is no cure. There is no vaccine. It continues to spread mostly unchecked, killing 1,000 Americans a day.
This pandemic--and trump-GOP's undermining efforts to control it--is the single most newsworthy event since World War II.

COVID19 reports are losing traction because the way the data is being reported is meaningless. We all know the # of positive cases, hospitalizations, and deaths will only increase. Early numbers of any kind were high because we had limited testing capability and we were only testing folks who were most vulnerable and thought they might have the virus. Now, we have more test kits and are testing a more representative portion of our country. There is a lot we will never know, and the only trend data we will know, will have to come from the tests that have been and are being administered. So if the # of positives, hospitalizations and deaths have any correlation to any trends, they must be relative to the number of tests administered giving those results. We have ALL the data necessary to present a more clear and accurate trend for the virus - so why isn't "trending information" being presented as I have suggested?
