am requesting Yahoo News to investigate and report on serious consumer protection concerns involving Tesla Insurance and Tesla Collision Centers.

I am currently involved in an ongoing dispute where Tesla Insurance has declared my vehicle a total loss despite clear documentation showing that the vehicle is fully repairable. The approved repair estimate is significantly lower than the vehicle’s actual cash value, yet the total loss determination has been maintained without proper justification.

At the same time, Tesla Collision Centers have refused to provide me with a complete repair estimate, stating that they were instructed not to do so because the insurer labeled the vehicle as a total loss. This prevents me, as the vehicle owner, from exercising my legal right to obtain independent repair evaluations and make informed decisions.

This creates a serious conflict of interest where:
• Tesla Insurance controls the claims process,
• Tesla-owned repair facilities control repair access,
• Consumers are denied transparent documentation,
• Total loss decisions appear to be financially motivated rather than evidence-based.

Despite repeated requests, key decisions have not been documented in writing, and important information has been withheld. This has caused prolonged delays, financial hardship, and loss of transportation.

I have submitted supporting documentation showing:
• The vehicle is structurally and mechanically repairable,
• Repair costs are well below total loss thresholds,
• Manufacturer repair facilities refused service based on insurance direction.

This raises broader public interest concerns about:
• Insurance steering,
• Lack of repair transparency,
• Manufacturer control over claims outcomes,
• Potential violations of consumer protection laws.

I believe this issue affects many Tesla owners nationwide and deserves investigative coverage. Consumers should not be forced into unfair total loss settlements when safe and reasonable repairs are available.

I respectfully urge Yahoo News to review these practices and help bring accountability and transparency to this system.

Your comments section has all sorts of problems. Periodically, I keep getting kicked out to login time and again (like today). You must be having problems because it crawls while trying to load comments. And, if anyone replies to a comment I made, clicking on the link in the bell icon only takes you to the story. If there are hundreds of comments since mine, good luck finding the comment replying to me. My idea, add a button in sort for “poster” that will take me to my comments in the story.
