Make your links open in a new tab, it's faster than trying to go back.

Two days ago the home page stopped allowing me to open any links from the home page. I like having multiple tabs open so I can switch back and forth or leave a tab open so I don't have to find the link later. please re-enable this feature on the home page or tell me how I can change my preferences so I can do this again.

I disagree with this. I prefer that stories open in the same tab.
Perhaps a profile preference setting to allow us to select which behavior we want would be appropriate.
