Please take the focus out of the search field.
I notice you now have the focus in your search box on every Yahoo news page. For those of us who use the arrow keys to scroll, this presents a momentary hassle/pause to click outside of the search box in order to keep scrolling. We know where search is if it's needed.

I find that having the page load with focus on the search field is just a way to steal search traffic. I use My Yahoo as my homepage that loads when I open a new page or tab. I usually just enter search terms in the address bar trying to get to Google, by My Yahoo steals focus to try to get my to enter my search term into Yahoo Search. If this continues, I'll discontinue my use of My Yahoo as my browser home page.

I can't space to scroll down. Very frustrating. Am removing Yahoo! News from my blogroll.

Not just arrow keys, also spacebar. Search is what we use when we want to go somewhere else, not when we've just landed on a page.
