How about because there is an "asia news" tab? Why even have regions, then? Is Tokyo anywhere near Damascus? Heck, Damascus is nearer Congo than it is Tokyo! Why don't I get African news when I click on "middle east?" Obviously there is a problem with their program. It isn't simple geography at work.
