Because of the number of injuries not only in baseball but football and basketball as well the "can't cut list" should be abolished or there should be a new category for players who are out for the year so they do not take up DL or IL spots. Designate it as "ineligible to return" (ITR) or "season ending injury" (SEI). If you do designate an injured player so he does not count against the roster then the "Can't cut list" could be retained.

Another year has gone by :(

Jesus, if this is rated #1 no wonder we are still waiting for them to let us drag and drop our drafted players to the position we want them in. Who thought this stupidity up? And #1?

Would really like to see an option to add a Wins + Quality Starts (W+QS) category

PLEASE DO NOT LET THIS SLIDE ANOTHER YEAR YAHOO. IT IS A SIMPLE STAT A LOT OF LEAGUES WOULD USE
-
Chris Walker commented
Please don't let another year go by without this category added as an option.

I think the same band of fools has voted this to the top. We might as well have the categories "Doubles by virtue of the fielder losing the ball in the sun", "singles by virtue of the fielder losing the ball in the lights", "batters reaching on dropped third strikes", "batters reaching on catcher interference","baserunners' bases gained on defensive indifference". Seriously, why do you need another category to manage your league? Are you trying to avoid someone gaining an advantage in ratio stats by drafting only relievers? Put in a minimum innings pitched requirement. Trying to prevent someone streaming SP to pick up Ks? Add a maximum weekly transaction limit (and season limit for that matter). Ratio stats are huge in baseball, they have been since the game started, they will be there forever. ERA is probably the best stat that exists for pitchers. Wins and losses are meaningless; they are a team stat. If you amassed 30 wins and win all your games 10-8, does that make you a good pitcher? No, your team bailed you out. If you lose 20 games with an ERA of 1.50, are you a bad pitcher? No, your team's offense stinks. I just want to understand why you think there is a need for this imaginary stat category. And Yahoo, please allow me to vote thrice against ideas that I think deserve no consideration at all. This is eerily reminiscent of NHL fan all-star voting John Scott the the 2016 Game or the 2007 Vote for Rory campaign. If I could understand why, maybe I could go along. I just don't see the point.

Seems like a logical add. Wins are unchanged and QS are rewarded. However, I don't know how it would work getting 2 points for a QS and a W. What about you get 1 point for either a QS... OR .... W but not both?
-
joe hartnett commented
then you probably don't want batting average as well
-
SCOTT FRENZEL commented
Not all wins are QS and not all QS starts are wins. But the times a pitcher can get both in a start would be at a premium. Please make this an option for leagues to use, if leagues don't want to use it, they don't have to.

If some people don't like this category, don't add it in your league. But help the leagues that DO want to add this!

This might be the dumbest idea I have ever seen suggested. How in the world is it ranked 1?
-
Seth Eric Cohen commented
What reason is there for not allowing this option yet?

Why not just add walks and hits? And have a 6 x 6 league? Is five not an arbritrary number? No offense but your request almost seems like you want to take the thinking/challenge out of the game? Which I suppose is never a good reason to do for something that is intended to be thought about and challenging -- otherwise, why not simulate the experience? Baseball is a game of ratios (era, batting average, etc.), unlike fantasy football. Anyway, this request was months ago, I'm curious if yahoo relented.

They need it badly. Fantrax has it on their site. my league would rather stick with Yahoo. Please make it happen!

I may be missing something but you want yahoo to invent a stat that will have an outcome exactly the same as WHIP.
there are better suggestions.. -

Dee,
At least you got your topic to #1. Yahoo probably hopes that's enough of a win that you'll forget about your actual request just like they have.
